Sake's Alive! AKL Lite V!!

Question for all of you AKL veterans ... We've got our first stay at AKL this Sept (DH, DS7, DD5, and me). From what I've seen on different boards, we might be tight on space in our savannah view room. Are the closets singles or doubles? Any tips or tricks for making the most of the storage available? Thanks for your advice!

The closet has 2 sliding doors so I guess it's a double. It can hold a decent amount of hanging clothes. There is a chest near the door - It's 3 or 4 drawers. And there is a dresser with 2 drawers under the TV. (I have a picture of it, but not the chest by the door or the closet.)

Hi QMom, the beds at AKL/AKV are the tallest on property and are high enough off the ground to easily slip most standard sized suit cases underneath. If overloaded with clothing (as happens in the winter) I'll leave some of the folded items in our luggage under the bed & use an empty one lined with a bag as a hamper for the ones to be washed. Never had a space issue except in the value studios, trying to find a place to store those couch cushions.

Brandi & David - hoping for the best outcome for your uncle, you and your family.
In my opinion, It's not selfish to feel that way. Unfortunate circumstances like your uncle's are scary & our fight or flight instincts kick in. Were you capable, I'm sure you'd be right there fixing him up. But it sounds like it's all up to your uncle and the big guy now.

Im so sorry to hear about this Brandi. It's terrible and heart wrenching but there are times when there is nothing we can do but think positive thoughts and hope for the best.

We spent a lot of time last night on the phone with all the family and my husband and I both were talking about the last time we saw him and how much we enjoyed being with him and how happy he was. So there is some comfort in knowing that we just saw him, we spent quality time with him and he knows that we LOVE him.

As of right now there are no changes, he is still unconscious, with very little brain activity.
