Sailing the Ocean Blue...October 6, 2012 Eastern Fantasy

Getting excited about cruise.. setting things aside to bring, writing up itinerary and packing list.. printing off door magnets, finishing up FE gifts.
Excited about Disboard meets..Fishlips before cruise.. Day of sail-away and girls night out at OOH LA LA.. would love to have a pirate night photo after fireworks. Will plan more meets if everyone wants.
Beth and I were planning the meet on Cruise Sail-away day.. at tables behind Nemo's Reef...just not sure of the time... to pick. Would love suggestion..

I have made a Command Decision!
To make this simple for everyone, and to solve an FE problem I was pondering, I will provide the Reminder Bands as part of everyone's FE gift. I will use both FE list to order so there is no need to provide me with numbers or sizes unless you have a special request! :thumbsup2

Allen,
I don't know how you decide what size to order between medium and adult but my family will need all lg. I believe. Thank you for doing this.

Lots of catching up...

Hey everybody we are really excited about this cruise we have decided to give out FE's to everyone on both list's! Therefore I need EVERYONE to tell me their family's favorite Disney characters!!!! (Individually please) If you are on "sheet 1" do not feel obligated to reciprocate... but hey everybody loves presents!

THANK YOU!

Happy Sailing,
Alli + Kristy

Jamie

Hi Jamie,
Melanie: Snow White or Mickey and Minnie
Brian: Genie
Isabella: Cinderella
Livie: Thumper, Chip, or Ariel

Thanks:)

I've been reading through the last few pages one thread at a time so I just saw where you ordered the wrist bands last night, Allen. Oh well, no worries. This past week we started back to school so it has been crazy with me being a teacher, one starting a job, and one entering middle school. Not to mention getting used to a schedule and getting up early again.:sad2: Maybe I can still keep up. My dd12 and I are going to work some more on FE gifts today. I have a few finished.:thumbsup2

Uh oh... I ordered 1L and 3M for y'all, but never fear!! I ordered extras, so I can do that. :thumbsup2

I've been reading some of the "when & where do we meet?" threads and Nemo's Reef is a popular spot, and the most popular time is 3 o'clock. When & where we meet is a non-issue for me, just let me know, I'll be there! But some food for thought... 3pm makes it tight to make the 4pm safety drill. If you meet much earlier, you run into some people might not be on the ship yet. I am also game for extra meets on the ship, tastings, tours, etc., and the Pirate Night photo is a cool idea!

I know that the five of us would love to do just about any of the tastings (DDad not so much the champagne and me and TinkLoverSam not so much the beer but that still leaves lots of options)
...I can't remember who was talking about possibly setting up the tasting sorry.

Heyo!

I have a quick question! I believe me and my family have cruised with you before! Did you go on the 4 night Bahamian cruise last October? I believe it was the 2-6? I swear we did FE'S with you lol
I may be wrong but doesn't hurt to ask!! :)

Happy Sailing,
Alli :sail:

We were on that cruise! It was part 1 of our B2B... Be glad you were not on the following 3 night. Because a tropical depression was forming, we missed CC and the ride back to PC that night was the roughest I have ever had on a cruise ship. I thought I was going to roll out of the bed a couple of times.

Hi Royfam!

We're doing a B2B too! So Excited... See you on the ship!

Just wanted to hop in and say hi:wave2: and hope everybody had a great weekend, been busy here, getting stuff done :crazy2: The only thing I did that gave me satisfaction was putting stuff in a tote for our upcoming cruise:yay:

Beth

What a weekend!

One of the children we are travelling with, 12 years old, was literally horsing around (she was at the barn playing with friends after a riding lesson) and landed oddly on her leg. She was seriously in pain and our friends took her to the hospital only to find out she tore her ACL! She due for surgery tomorrow and will now be in a cast for the entire two week vacation (week at Disney after the cruise). She's VERY upset and is afraid she will be seriously restricted for activities. I'm sure she will be for a certain extent. We may be more comfortable if she had a handicap room. Do people know if Disney would let us switch rooms without charging us?

Thanks so much! We are in heavy "replan" mode for the whole trip to make sure she is comfortable.

Sorry to hear about the 12 year old :(, I hope she mends quickly. I am not sure about the Handi-cap rooms. I know that there is a very small selection of those rooms. I would suggest giving guest services a call tomorrow if booked directly with DCL or if a TA was used I would contact them to see what can be done, I would do this soon to see if there is any availability. Good luck with your re-planning, I hope all goes well and she still has a great time even though she will be limited.

Thanks for the advice! As soon as I know what the full situation is after surgery tomorrow I will step and help her folks with whatever I can do. Already looking up temporary handicap permits and spoke to some cast member friends about the Disney World side of things.

The fact that I got a cabana (thanks to this forum!) is so ironic right now in a way because it's going to be a great place for her to spend the day. The surprise will now be just that much better. We also booked a specialty cruise for the fireworks and this will also be an activity she didn't expect to do but now becomes another way for her to have fun to outweigh the things she can't. The universe works in strange ways sometimes. :thumbsup2

Oh No!! :scared1: Maybe if she heals well, they can at least get her in a brace or something she can get wet by cruise time. pixiedust:pixiedust:

We've had a WDW experience with a six-year-old in a full leg cast...she broke her leg riding our DD's mini-bike...but that's another story. Any way, we renamed her 'Fast Pass'...b/c she was in a wheelchair (couldn't put weight on her leg), we got to use the handicapped enterances to attractions, which means we by-passed practically all lines! Only waited 9 minutes for Dumbo, when the queue indicated an hour wait. We also got her a waterproof 'sleeve' that fit over the cast so that she could get in the pools. She was such a good sport about it all...strong little girl!
