Sailing the Ocean Blue...October 6, 2012 Eastern Fantasy

Hi! Just reminding everyone to send me a PM about anything you are celebrating while on this cruise---birthday, anniversary, etc...with your name, age, cabin number---so I can get you a special card. My husband Tom and I are celebrating 17 years of wedded bliss (so far so good!) on October 7th.

Thanks!

Susan

I believe a lot of that info is also available in the FE Exchange list. So if you are not receiving the info you want. Go there and see if it helps you:thumbsup2

On the last few cruises, we met inside (the Dream) at 3:00 in the D Lounge (I think that is what it is called---the place I played ALOT of BINGO in:)

As far as recognizing each other, for our extra-large Panama Canal January 2011 cruise, we did the green rubber bracelets (1 person ordered them and we mailed her $ and picked them up on the ship when we met---they ended up much cheaper when purchased in bulk) and my husband Tom and I printed out nametags to put in the lanyards---using our official thread logo with people's DIS name and real name AND someone, as their FE gift went in with other families to provide really nice lanyards printed with our cruise name and dates----it was really so much fun seeing people walk around and know that we sort-of belonged to a fun group:)

Does any of this sound interesting to anyone? I'd be willing to head-up any?all? some? of these or if anyone can think of something else?????????

Susan
We had lanyards and name tags on a couple of cruises also. That was really nice, but it's a lot of work! The reminder bands are considerably less buying in bulk. I priced 100 with filled letters for $82, 200 with filled letters for $135. My original 10 is $35. Last time I did reminder bands, I mailed them to everyone ahead of time. If most everyone is interested in doing the reminder bands, I will make the bulk order and either mail them or bring them to the ship with me.

I know that I am interested I think someone ordering them in bulk would work best :thumbsup2

:offtopic: but whos getting excited its so close!!!

I want to do two flags tour but do not get to check in for two more weeks...
Julie

We did the Two Flags tour last time we were there and it was very nice. We were able to get off the bus from the tour in downtown and do some shopping before we went back to the ship. (you are on your own to get back to the ship but it was not bad at all)

This will be our first to St. Thomas, as hurricane Omar ran us out of St. Marteen and they closed the US ports and they diverted us to Nassau. Sure hope we make St. Thomas this year. :goodvibes

Add your Mom and Dad, please! You don't even have to mail them!!!!!!!

My Husband and I will be celebrating 30 years.. Our Anniversary date is October 17..we went to VI on our honeymoon so St. Thomas day will be a fun day for us.. maybe we could have a celebratory toast to our marriages. Julie

On your tour Two Flags... how far away from the ship did they drop you off and how did you get back to the ship.. Walk or taxi. I have a hard time walking, so this is why I am asking.. Sure do hope we get to VI>> this is the reason for the cruise for us..

I do too. We loved St. Thomas. Went to Megan's Bay. GORGEOUS!!! and into downtown to do some shopping. I will tell you. My dd bought a knock off purse there in the tents and it broke. I don't think they can sell those anymore though from what I've heard. Since we went to ST. Thomas last time, we are going to go to St. John.
Do you know if their was a pandora shop downtown? What kind of shopping did they have? Did you take a taxi back?

Morning all!

Just realized, that on our thread there are 3 Susan's and all from Maryland!

Cardidog...where in Maryland are you? I am in Reisterstown!

I would like to participate in some get togethers on the ship! Think it would be fun to make some new friends!:cool1:

alright off to mow the lawn...ck in later

At least I think so---and I hadn't noticed that we are 3 on this cruise! The name Susan is so cool---my best friend and mom of 6 wonderful kids named her youngest daughter Susan---and I have a very hard time not spoiling her rotten because of that!

Maryland is also a pretty cool state! We live in Severna Park and that derecho that came through here really did a number on our town:-( We had too much shade anyway!

Get-togethers on a 7 night cruise should be pretty easy with all of the sea days---my problem is that Disney tends to schedule so many events at times that conflict with each other---I find it so difficult sometimes to try to do everything! I should know better by now. Sigh.

I forgot to ask if anyone (ladies) would be interested in having a Champagne Girls event on this cruise? I've participated in one---in fact someone started a thread recently and our picture from the Panama Canal 2011 cruise was posted to it. I'm not sure how to organize it---we paid for and met for champagne tasting in one of the lounges and wore pink and had pink feather boas and tiaras---it was a lot of fun---eventhough I hate champagne and didn't serve it at our wedding----the colorful characters and the cruise staff made it highly enjoyable!

Also, I will keep asking for people to send me their celebrations---not everyone who is celebrating something is part of the FE group and there may be some new people who book this cruise at the last minute and I would like to be as inclusive as possible---I'm just nice that way:)

Sounds like a fun meeting.with the ladies... we could meet at Skyline bar or Oh La la la one night.. Julie

I have been reading on the main boards how popular the Mixology classes have become. If anyone is interested in them as I am, you need to signup as soon as you get on the ship. They are selling out before the second day. :thumbsup2

I participated in a Champagne Girls event on our first cruise and it was a lot of fun. We just had it in a fellow DISer's room and all brought our own champagne or whatever if you aren't champagne people.
