I just got my fish extender in the mail.. so glad I ordered it instead of attempting to sew.....I would still be sitting at the dock trying to finish it....

It is so cute... just told husband have to go on another cruise to get my moneys worth out of it hope that worked... Julie

I still have to explain to my husband about the FE....he has no idea. I figure I will explain it to him about a month before our sailing...the less he knows the better I know he will totally love it, but if I talk about it and he has no idea what I am talking about, he won't think I am over planning

I'm with you. My dh is on a need-to-know basis. Although, he will think it's crazy and another way for me to spend money.

For those of you who have done the FE exchange before, do you take down your fish extender after the 2nd or 3rd day? What if everyone delivers theirs on the first day and it's too full?

I think you leave it up all week.? You never know what might show up as the week goes by.... Julie

I am thinking of dividing up my deliveries in two days, this way I am not spending too much time on delivering FE gifts on one day. I am probably going to keep MY FE up through-out the whole cruise, it is like is a xmas stocking and you do not know what surprises will show up at any time especially if somebody is having so much fun they get a little delayed in delivering their FE gifts

The last one we did, there were so many people, we had a delivery schedule that lasted 7 days. We took ours down when it was time to pack.

For the kids that will missing school on the cruise how are you handling it with the school? We do not want it to count as unexcused absences. Karen

I feel your pain...gained 25 after being laid off...so that means I need to lose 30 before the cruise

We did plan to use touring cars, I think that was the name which allowed us to fit in a trip to supermarket on way to port but we have extended our stay by one day pre-cruise and are flying to tampa rather than orlando so have hired a car which we will drop at port car hire terminal and pick back up.

Why the stop to the supermarket? This is our first time cruising so any tips/hints would be great!

On the FE hanger....how many pockets should it be? Is it just for our girls do our names/last name go on it? This is all new to us!! Thank you!

You should have the number of pockets for everybody in your stateroom that you have listed on the FE Exchange list you sent to me. You can either put your Disname or last name on top or no name it is all up to you. As for names on the pockets that is also up to you, if you decide to keep the names private you can put character names instead (if you do this I would suggest that you let me know so that I can add those character names next to everybody's name. You can search the boards for previous FE Extenders that have been made to get a general idea or look is Ebay or Etsy and search for FE Extenders also.

This is all new to me as well, I have never done an FE Exchange or even a cruise. I am so excited and cannot wait

Was watching the Fantasy leave a few minutes ago and decided to pull up the webcam on my phone and see how well it works. It works great! We can watch ourselves on the webcam as we leave!!

We haven't participated in a FE before but from what I have been reading I would plan on leaving this up for the duration, also gives you a nice welcome when you arrive back at your stateroom

Sorry Karen I can only input from a UK perspective, which means unauthorised absence for our kids - not a popular choice with the school. We do request reading, maths, language etc and it does depend on individual teachers whether they will give this information out. Gillian.

The months are going by so fast I had better get going and move those FE ideas into actions

Why the stop to the supermarket? This is our first time cruising so any tips/hints would be great!

We do like to take on board supplies, which DCL allow you to do as long as this in in your hand luggage - mainly this would be sports top water bottles good for the children when doing activities and for gym and spa (all which do provide refreshments we just like taking a bottle with us). Not everyone's choice but ours is to also take some wine and champagne on board to enjoy in our staterooms. You can also take this to restaurants with a corkage fee attached. The touring cars was a worthwhile stop on route to port for us but with having a hired car now allows us to pick these items up on the way to WDW and avoid the trip on boarding day
