Sailing the Ocean Blue...October 6, 2012 Eastern Fantasy

For all of you who missed Kritter sailing away yesterday, here is a pic of the Dream leaving port.

Disney_Alli, DH and I and our parents all have second seating, I just couldn't see any of us being ready for dinner at 5:30 the late dining just seemed like it would work better for us all.

How long of a flight is it to WDW for you? One of these days DH and I want to visit Scotland, it seems like such a beautiful place.

Flight generally last about 9 hours going out to Orlando but around 8 on return to Scotland, something to do with the tail wind. We do have many islands which are beautiful we never seem to make the most of the beautiful countryside we have :)

We love second seating but we are doing main this time because of DNiece.

Wow, that's a looong flight! Hopefully one of these years DH and I will be able to see the beautiful countyside for ourselves.

We thought main seating would be better since my DD maybe too tired for the later seating. That is the last thing I want is a tired child at the table.

I sent the following message to the DISers who already commented on this thread: "Just so you have the most of to date information on this cruise, please make sure you subscribe to this thread....there is so much more to come" :cool1:. If I have missed anybody I am sorry. To the rest who have booked this cruise and not joined this thread and are interested on what is going on please subscribe to this thread for further updates and hopefully you will join this thread for meets and/or FE's on the cruise for "Sailing The Ocean Blue."

Has anyone else been thinking about excursions? For me it's never to early to do some planning!! We are not too keen on nassau but I've been reading about the dolphin encounter on blue lagoon island and just wondered if anyone had done this?

Hey Gall! Are you talking about the blue lagoon excursion for Nassau? If so, our cruise does not stop in Nassau. Our itineray is St. Maarten, St. Thomas and Castaway Cay.

I see that there is a Dolphin Encounter for St. Thomas that is out of Tortola (my favorite island!)

It looks like an amazing excursion!

Ooops wrong itinerary, this was the excursion that I was meaning.

Thanks for the links :thumbsup2

I know we have well over a year away, but I am looking for suggestions for meets. I think the first meet should be on the first day of the cruise at the drink station (still haven't figured out exactly what time yet). If anybody has a better suggestion please let me know, I am open to anything.

If anybody is interested in further meets, I was thinking getting together for mini golf, shuffleboard (favorite game, grandparents had a regulation shuffleboard court in their backyard), etc. Please let me know of any other ideas that you may have. This way by the time we cruise we will have all of this organized.

Once we get all of the meets in order, I will post on the Roll Call Page.

Thanks for all of your help.

And you know I'm the Shuffleboard Queen, I have the trophy from Nanny to prove it! :cheer2:

Let's see who is the Shuffleboard Queen of the Fantasy.....I will be the next Shuffleboard Queen....It's On...Ferb, I know what we are going to do today, (well, one day when we are on the "Sailing The Ocean Blue" cruise) an awesome shuffleboard match!!!! The winner will get a "trophy" (not an actual trophy, but a nice reminder of kicking somebody's butt memento).:yay::yay::dance3::cool1:

Has anyone played Bingo on the cruise? Was it fun? I see that they have paper and electronic cards, I was wondering how much they were. Thanks for any info.

Just dropping in to say:wave2:
Question: My dd11 will be turning 13 while we are on the cruise. I would like to get something special signed by the characters for her at guest services. The last time we cruised I did a photo mat for her. I don't think a pillowcase or tote bag would be exciting for her. (She has plenty of tote bags) I thought about the white vinylmation that they are talking about on another thread. She bought a couple of them on our last trip to WDW. A t-shirt she would probably just wear around the house or maybe a few places. Not to school or anything. Doesn't wear hats. What do ya'll think? Can you recommend anything that would be neat and a good memory piece? Any help appreciated.
Thanks,
Melanie
