I am thrilled to say DH and I will be sailing with you on Oct. 6th. We are Alan and Carole, both 54. This is our 5th Disney cruise--but our first as empty nesters! We can't wait!!
It looks like you have been planning for a long long time, so I will have a lot of catching up to do! We look forward to meeting everyone!

I'm sorryI didn't mean to leave out the adults without kids all together. I was just thinking that the kids that are my dd's age are already getting to know each other and it would be neat to have personalized items from their new friends. I certainly don't mean that we can't do a FE with other people. I was just thinking that the kids who are the same age could exchange fe's and then others could join as well. I certainly like making FE's for adults as well because I think I have some good ideas that I have gotten from the boards and made up myself. Please forgive me.

Ok, here's a crazy question about the FE's. I read somewhere that on the fantasy the FE's are going to be starfish and seahorse depending on the side that you are on. So what will we call them now? They're not fish??

I think your idea is a very good one and there will also be other children on the FE Exchange that will be younger that will be included in the other group. I will have to split up it up anyway, since it is getting larger almost everyday. Oh and I am sorry for screwing up your username previously.

I'm with you!! And FYI, I read somewhere on the Disboards, a popular Dis Meet location on the Dream is the Vista Cafe...... There is a Vista Cafe on the Fantasy..... just sayin'!

Thank you for the idea. That would probably been fine for the adults, but I think it would be better up by the pools for the kids and since there is not much time to do a lot. The kids can go swimming if they wish and ride the Aqua Duck. I think it would be really hard to entertain little ones in the Cafe.

We can meet right before the sail away party and we do not have to rush from deck 4 to deck 12. Also, at the vista cafe we have to pay for our beverages, if we are up near the pools we will be right near the drink stations and a variety of counter service places for snacks.

Just a thought.

I would love feedback and some more ideas from everybody who would like to do a meet on embarkation day. We can go back and forth on where would be the best place to meet.

Pool deck is great for embarkation day. We also have 3 sea days. If anyone is up for a meet on a sea day, it could be Vista Cafe then.... just a suggestion.

I do not think after would be good since people have to get ready for dinner if they are the main seating. There is only about a half hour after the Sail Away Party and Main Seating for dinner, so people at the Sail Away Party would have to go from Deck 12 to deck 4 and then to go to their Staterooms, get ready for dinner and go to dinner. The Vista Cafe will be better on a Sea Day because people will not have to worry about entertaining the kids. JMO

I really think that there should be a meet at the Vista Cafe if people are interested in meeting there, but it should be done on less hectic day.

New don't matter!! Throw it out there, that's ideas get worked into events!! Other than the embarkation day meet location, we really don't have anything in concrete yet so all ideas and suggestions are welcome!

Apparently somebody that is on this thread and on another thread stated on the other blog thread that the FE Exchange is getting out of control and I do not know what I am doing. I will not mention who said this, they know who they are.

If I am not doing a good job at it please let me know and I will hand it over to somebody else and leave this thread all together. I did put a lot of work into the FE and only took it over when the original person changed their sailing date....so much for trying to help out.

What's to get out of hand? The list is still growing and there is plenty of time yet. It's still to early to break it up or close it. I have been the list keeper for several cruises, it's a big job to keep up with 50 or 60 families. If they want to do it, let them. But don't let them run you off or get upset over it. It's a vacation! Have fun and don't worry about what someone else thinks!!

I like the idea of meeting before the Sail Away Party. We'll be close to where we need to be to get a good view. The kids don't necessarily need a lot of time to bond as they have their own meeting scheduled later that night by the aquaduck. It sounds like they are in their own little world and don't need us for anything.
