Sailing Ship Columbia

I was wondering how often the ship sails and if it will be going the first week in November? I have never seen this thing move other than for Fantasmic and didn't realize you could actually ride on it until I saw some pictures. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Good question!! I have never been on it myself either. I want to ride it late Nov. so I hope it's open

We have been twice in June/July (2008 and 2011) and it runs all day. There is a trip on the mark twain followed by columbia followed by mark twain followed by columbia all day.

The last time we rode it was a couple of years ago about a week and a half before Halloween. Sorry I don't remember what day of the week it was. If you do have the opportunity to ride it make sure you go down stairs and see the swords and bunks they have down there. It was pretty neat and my son thought it was cool too...

We rode it in August on a Tuesday, but as Skiingfast fast state's most likely on weekends or busy days.

Hmmm. When we went in September 2009 it only sailed on our last day of 6, a Wednesday. OP, I'd hope for the best and catch a ride if you see it out.

That was possibly when the did the annual deck maintenance work on the Mark Twain.

The Columbia is the back up for the Mark Twain, and when capacity is needed beyond the Twain's ability they both run.

I know that it runs on Saturday and Sunday in low-peak season, but it's not up and running until about 11 AM. We thought it would run the first day of Halloween (CMs seemed to think so as well) but to no avail.

Thank you for the info. I guess we will just hope for the best while we are there. It would definitely be cool to actually be able to get on it!

We always go to DL during the week and we've been on the SSC and the MT, so I know they run at least sometimes during the week. Once was in May, once was in Oct.

We were there last week and it was parked. They said it only runs on the weekends during the peak times.

I just rode it last Sunday the 9th. Both the boats were running.
