Sailing dates released? And confused on rates...

I'm looking at June of 2006! (When will these dates coem out and when can you start booking for that far out?)

Still trying decide if I need to bank/borrow poinst from my DVC for a cruise then OR rent out my points and pay cash. (Which I kinda don't wnat to ahve to fool with...)

I'm trying to get an idea as to aroudn what it may cost versus us using our DVC points.

I'm confused....
I pulled up this coming June and it was $3568.40 (w/insurance, no transfer) versus $2808.40 the following June in 2005, same week. Why such a huge difference? Both said early booking discount applied.

Any help? Thsi will be our first cruise. I'm trying to wait til my youngest is 5 and maybe, just maybe capable of sitting through half a meal...

Don't know anything about doing anything with DVC points, I am not a member. Are you looking at 3, 4 for 7 day? That could make a difference as to when the dates are released. For example, the 3 & 4 day sailings are released for all of 2005. They have yet to release dates past June (?) for the 7 day. I think they are working on some new itineraries. So don't expect them anytime soon. Keep posted here and I am sure you will hear about them as soon as they come open. As for the price discrepancy: DCL has numerous "tiers" for pricing. All depends on how popular a particular date is. So the "early booking" discount can vary. Some people report that they get "early booking" as late as a few weeks before a cruise. Go figure! Still your best bet for pricing is to book very early & watch the rates b/c if they go down (& you are aware) they are good about a refund. Don't know if any of this applies if you use points

I wonder if I can book when the date coems out and then cancel later if I decide to use my poinst instead? With DVc I can't book until 11 months out with points. Anyone? Thanks!

First of all you can cancel up to 60 days prior with no penalties. I have to tell you like the other poster said dont expect them soon. I know from some inside sources with DCl(friends with President of DCL) yes I know, how is a 14 year old friends with him. Its a long but interesting story! lol I can tell you there will be major changes more then likely with new ships(hopefully) or just new routes. There is suppose to be a major press event for DCL and DLR this month. We will see but it will still be awhile for 2006 dates. At the earliest early 05 I am guessing. Hope I could help at all.
