My eldest DD's birthday is 9/11 also (she's poster here on the DIS-sydally9367). She has decided to celebrate her birthday on 9/10 from now on.

I don't see any real problem with mentioning your DD's birthday. However, I would caution you to not "expect" Disney to do something special. It will only lead to disappointment. I've read so many posts from guests that mentioned a special occasion upon checking in and then got irrate when Disney did nothing special for them.

If you want to make this trip special and celebrate your DD's birthday, the best way to do that is to make the arrangements yourself.

A wonderful way to do this is to get in touch with Jane at Gifts of a Lifetime and have a special surprise planned. Jane and her Pixies can put together amazing surprises. My DD's got together with her and during one trip to WDW, they surprised me with a Scavanger Hunt in the MK. Jane and her pixies hid all different types of Figment "toys" all over the MK and left clues that took me from one hiding place to another. It was sooooo special, I cried the whole time.

We are celebrating my niece's sixteenth birthday when we go (10 days after her birthday) this is her birthday present and I plan on letting them know we are celebrating the SWEET (well almost sweet) SIXTEEN for her!

I like that balloon idea in the room AMJL, was that just for the Poly or do you think all resorts will do it? We are staying at the CSR (we are still waiting to see if Poly opens up) and was hoping they would do the same!

well our 2004 birthday are 10/3 DS will be 8 , on 10/10 I will be 34 and on 11/18 my DD will be 11 .. our trip is planned for Oct 29 to Nov 7 .. We will each pick a day to be our own and we get to be the planner of the entire day and get buttons to wear as this is our birthday presents ! Michelle

We've been in WDW for my son's birthday since he was 3 years old. This year for the first time, our schedule didn't allow us to be there on his birthday, we have to leave a few days before. He will be 15 and yes, we will celebrate at WDW for his birthday. I too, as others have said, caution you to not expect anything. All the CMS have always known it is my son's birthday and have never done anything. Anything we do we pay for. Even for our 25th Anniversary, nothing. (This was the only time I was truly disappointed). Many people have said that Disney went far and beyond for people celebrating an occasion, but as lots of CMS have told us, "Everyone is celebrating something all the time". If something happens, it's awesome and magical, but if you REALLY want to make an occasion special, be sure to plan and do something yourself to make sure.
