SAHM Going Back to Work - Your Career Consequences?

I am a bit unusual (maybe?) in that I hope that I never have to return to the workforce. I am much more fulfilled in my job at home. :) Because I am a SAHM, my husband has been able to really do very well in his career. I know that he wouldn't be where he is if I had been working as well.

I think that one of the best ways to get a long put aside career started again is to go back to school for more training or another degree. There are so many companies that recruit from college campuses and love to find people with more life experience. Even though the pay might not be great at first, it is a great way to get your foot in the door and prove yourself. A lot of these companies are near impossible to get an interview with on your own, but they are relatively easy to access as a student.

If I ever had to return to the workforce, I don't know that this would be an option for me. I already have my MBA so I'm not sure what else I could pursue. But I think it is a great option for others.

I think it depends on your line of work too. I have 2 MAs and really don't want another, but some fields of work change so quickly that you really need to find a way to keep up.
