Can anyone describe the sleeping situation in the suite we get when we book the Sagamore on points? The room set-up in general??

Thanks for any information you can provide :goodvibes

I was just there last weekend. The suites have a view of the lake and are very nice. The resort is magnificent. Clean, classy and the location on the lake is pristine. The views are so beautiful. You will love it.

The rooms have two queen beds, full sized living room and kitchen. Very much like a studio at Disney only bigger. Has a balcony with two rocking chairs.

Lake George is our favorite vacation spot outside WDW and DL! I have been going there since I was a child.
If you like Italian food... check out Mario's in Lake George Village... family owned and operated since 1954... awesome food! http://www.marioslakegeorge.com/

Have a Great Trip!

You can book the Sagamore with DVC points?

We've been going to LG every summer for the last 27 years!

It's in your the back of your planning book under concierge collection. Remember it's a hotel room not a villa.

We have been to Mario's and liked it very much...Log Jam is our all time favorite:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

DH has been going for 36 years and 12 for me...We have always stayed at Depe Dene...The cabins are a very nice size and I love the beach access and pool BUT the cabins are usually pretty dirty and unpleasant...

The Sagamore would be a big step up for us but for $500+ a night never seemed worth it...

Points make it hurt less ;)

Our favorit is the Adirondack Brew Pub!
They have hand crafted beer and really good steaks and beer battered fish & chips! YUM!!

We have also stayed at Depe Dene! I know the cabins can be kind of musty but we expect that, it's part of the CHARM!

Lately we've been staying at Fort William Henery, the highrise part of the hotel is very nice - kind of expensive but cheaper than the Sagamore!

You know I am glad you reminded me of the Adirondack Brew Pub...We went once...I had the fish & chips....I really enjoyed that meal and DH loved the beer...Will have to put that back on the list.

Have you had anything from the Lake George Bakery? The cinnamon bread is the best I have ever had but the sell out quick!

They have studio villas at the Sagamore. I was just in one. The resort just had a multi million dollar renovation. The hotel rooms are nicer than the studios, but they are much smaller. The studio was very nice however. I didn't look to see if the couch pulled out. It was a sectional so I don't think it did. The bathroom was very modern and clean, as was the studio itself.

We ate in the pub, but The Log Jam on the Queensbury/Lake George line is the best in the area.

My extended family lives in Lake George and I know the area well if anyone has questions.

My family & I live in Lake George and are heavily involved in the tourism industry there. Will be happy to answer any questions or give recommendations.

Funny thing is I am posting this as we drive to our other family vacation spot - Myrtle Beach - while reading about my favorite vacation spot: Disney!

I looked into the Sagamore once, Would love to stay here. Lake George is so beautiful and fun. I think the villa was for only two people and you had to pay points for additional guests. Am I remembering correctly?
:confused3

We love the Log Jam too... The Tamarack inn across from Marios is good too. We always stay at "The Heritage of Lake George". It's next door to Mario's and ironically, the resort family also owns Guiseppee's restaurant in the Village of Lake George.(also a great restaurant)
The heitage has units with Kitchenettes as well as Efficiency units... one of which is a whole house with own pool! http://www.heritageoflakegeorge.com/
This is our favorite non-Disney resort!

Thanks for the info on Heritage...Is there beach access for the resort?

We are going this weekend for a couple of nights...Funny because we plan on eating at Log Jam and Guieseppee's (the outdoor pizza area)...And maybe the Brew Pub...Looking forward to seeing the lake!

Have a burger for me at the Lookout Cafe!
We decide to go to Disney this summer and I'm missing the lake!

The Resort is on the opposite side of Canada Street that the Lake. There is a Public Beach at shepard Park as well as the "Million Dollar Beach" near the steel pier.
They usually give you a gift certificate for Guiseppee's upon check in.
Have Fun!

What happened at Sheppard Park?

My middle DD is on her way up to the Lake with friends right now!
She is planning on watching the fireworks from the Park tonight.
