I got the $15 off $100 Mastercard Gift Card promo. Does anyone know if there is an activation fee with the Mastercard GC?

Well, there is an activation fee of $5.95, but I thought it was still a decent deal. However, I just tried to use the card to make a payment on my account with Disney for our trip in March, and for some reason it kept getting denied (even when I called and had customer service help). I guess I will have to use it at Safeway, so I am not sure it is worth the hassle to save $9/$100.

I didn't end up using the Mastercard one, because of the activation fee. I did have a $15 off of $150. I bought $150 Disney Gift and a few other groceries. I ended up with $10 in free groceries. So, I don't think it would work if you just bought the GC, but the free groceries are nice. I didn't know how it would have worked, so I only had a little bit of groceries. I don't know if it is a more than one time thing. Not too bad.

Is there a 800 number on the back of the card? If so I would call them or call safeway and see exactly where you can use the card. Seems strange you could not use for the payment.

I was at Target and decided to try to use it to buy Disney gift cards and it worked fine. So, added a step, but finally was able to apply the $100 to my account with the Disney cards.
