Safe to put your name or photos on your door (magnets)?

I like the idea of brining some sort of magnets to put on the door for the kids (and us!) to easily recognize our room. But I have some concerns about putting our faces on our doors. I don't necessarily want to be found by everyone, just the kids Do most people put their names, photos?

Some people put names but I have never seen photos...I would not add photos

If you don't personalize the door magnets they tend to disappear. We always have put both our names and pictures on them.

Lots of people put their names...we do.....but I wouldn't put photos on there.
One idea is to have each child choose their favorite character and make a picture of the character with the child's name. But there will be a lot of doors with pictures of the characters on them, so you'd need to make sure your kids knew which ones were theirs.

After our first year of general mag's growing fins and swimming away we personallized them and put pictures up. We generally have been on deck 6 forward, two adults mom and daughter. We put up names, pictures of prior cruises etc. I haven't had any grow fins since. We didn't have any people look us up. They only people that really knew who we were, were the CM's. They recongnized us from the pictures on our door.

It was fun, not scarry.

Make lots it fun to hear what people say passing by, that don't know about Disboards. We even put up a white board and left notes to the other guest... Never got any bad notes, it was just pure fun.
We are a special crowd. Don't for get something disboard green. LOL...

I think it's fine for adults to have their pictures up there, I just wouldn't put a child's picture on the door.

If someone wants to make a cute photo magnet with their child's picture on it, they could always put that one on the INSIDE of the door.

We personalize them with last name only. My kids are stillyoung enough that they aren't walking around the ship on their own - either they'll be in the club, or with us.

I get mine from Amazon! It's actually much cheaper than the same stuff from a big box office supply store. The brand I buy is Avery.

We have cruised DCL since 2003 and I use pictures of the kids from past cruises on the door. We have never had a problem. We actually got to see one of our room hosts last cruise who was working a couple sections down the hall because he recognized the kids from their pictures on the door and stopped to say hello.

I like making our door signs on 8½x11 photo paper....the images are so much more clear! And then I use the strips of sticky magnet on the backs of them.

Do you like the matte or the glossy?
And you find this thickness is good? I see they offer a thicker version too.
