When is the best time to view the safari? I originally had a FP for 11:30-12:30 after the Nemo show. I was going to rope drop Everest, Dinosuar and then see Nemo since they are all near by.

My friend did not like it and she wants to RD Safari and then do Dinosuar... and we changed the FP to Everest.

When is the best time to do the safari?

Most say animals are out early when it's cool. Wait is good at RD. We've done it at RD but last week we did it on arrival day so couldn't do it until 5pm. Had a terrific safari with tons of animals! I think heat of afternoon would not be great since animals might seek shade and not be as active. No wait at all at 5pm with park closing at 6 that day.

We've done Safari both at RD and during the 11:30a time frame. We have found that we do see more animals when we go at RD but is also good at 11:30a. If you want to keep your 11:30a FP for Safari, might I suggest you do Dino and Nemo first, then FP Everest for 10:30-11:30? That would make for a more relaxed day because you would not have to deal with the RD frenzy getting to EE. You could arrive just behind the RD crowd, mosey your way over to Dino, which will be walk-on at that point. Then you'd still have plenty of time to get the Nemo show in before your FP window for EE expires.

While we tend to go to Safari at rope drop and then go clockwise towards DinoLand, I have read from a few touring professionals that it does not matter.

All animals are different, so you can see activity throughout the day.

Agreed.
Each ride will be a different experience.

I've heaard some say early is better, and I've heard others say that late afternoon is better. You'll see animals no matter what time you go.

The usual advice is to go first thing at rope drop or late in the day to see the most animals. However, CMs said that when animals are tired/hungry/"done" late in the day, they are allowed to leave the safari. On our last trip, we discovered that the Safari runs even in a heavy downpour. CMs told us the animals are more active in the rain, we saw tons of activity while doing Safari mid-morning in the drizzle after a storm.

Agree late in the day many of the animals appear to have gone backstage and a lot of them can be seen hanging out or even lined up by their exit door. Yesterday afternoon around 4/5 the keepers were putting out food trying to tempt the animals back out into the open

I do first thing in the morning, mid afternoon, then close to closing. You can catch different animals you couldn't see in each ride.

I'm a safari fanatic, and have done the safari at all times of the day. You can go in the morning one day and see lots of animals, then come back at that same time the next day and see virtually nothing. The best time I had, in terms of seeing animals, was right around noon one day. What was funny was that I was headed to lunch, and almost didn't take the time to ride the safari before I ate lunch. Yet I did, and so many animals were out and about and walking right in front of the truck, blocking its path-such fun-

Watch how much you set yourself up to criss cross the park. AK gets very very very hot and I, personally, would not like to trek back and forth from Dinosaur to Safari and then back to Nemo. With careful use of FP, there shouldn't be terribly long waits at that park. Make use of single ride line at EE too.

Totally agree. We've been for many years and have seen the Safari at all different times during the day. I think my most favorite was high noon when I actually saw the cheetahs but then again, it was nice just right before the very last trip of the day (around 5ish) and we saw the animals getting ready for their trip home for their feeding. Can't help for rope drop because this animal is not getting up early while on vacation :)
