Safari Ride @ Animal Kingdom while pregnant?

There is a warning sign that pregnant women should not ride. It is a very bumpy ride. I chose not to ride it while pregnant. I didn't think it was worth the risk.

Agreed! You are tossed about on this ride. We also rode the Everest Expedition in March and I thought I would die on this ride!!! It is not for the faint of heart!:lmao:

I rode it at 16 weeks pg an regreted it. I didn't feel like it hurt baby in any way, but it hurt my back and hips. It was not worth it and I wished I hadn't and payed for it all day. But, it was the roughest safari I had been on and I've been on the "ride" at Least four times in my life and that ride when I was pregnant was defiantly at least twice as rough as the previous times I rode.

Some people say they were fine riding in the front of the car while pregnant. I'm pregnant and I would be too freaked out that something would go wrong, but I also have had a rough pregnancy.

I rode it when I was seven weeks pregnant. No problems but I regretted doing it. Too bumpy.

I rode it when I was 5 months pregnant or so. No regrets. It was perfectly fine. Not a big deal at all. I've ridden it numerous times, and I wouldn't hesitate to ride it again if I was pregnant in the future.

I was 3 weeks from having my son while in Disney so I skipped this ride. It is very bumpy. I wouldn't ride it while pregnant, at any stage.

There is a sign.

That said, I rode it 7 months pregnant, sitting somewhere in the middle-ish. My 9 month old fell asleep on the ride. (my younger two kids are 11 months apart). We had ridden the ride several times before on previous non pregnany trips, so I knew what I was getting in to.

We rode again the following year when Iw as not pregnant, sitting in the very back and it was massively bumpy, erratic and I was actually afraid my kids would bump out! So a lot has to do with your seating in the jeep and the driver.

last time I rode it.... it was very bumpy.... absolutely killed my back the rest of the day....

A turbulent ride, once was enough for me, my least favorite attraction at AK.

I rode it at 22 weeks with absolutely no problems or regrets. It was the only ride that I went against the posted advisory. I would guess that if you feel the ride is too bumpy or uncomfortable when you aren't pregnant, that riding pregnant would be worse. I honestly think you could have as bumpy time in your own vehicle in the right set of circumstances.

I rode it at 7 months pregnant and didn't have any problems at all. It really wasn't that much different than some of the bus rides for me. But another pregnant woman I met on the bus said she was cramping a bit after the safari.

I rode it at 3 months pregnant... but I also ran The Goofy (the WDW half marathon and full marathon on two consecutive days) during that same trip, so I joked that the Safari was the least of my stupid choices. :lmao:

I rode it last year at 5 months. We asked to sit in the front row, since it's supposed to be less bumpy. I was fine. Everyone has different levels of comfort. I had ridden the safari several times before, so I knew what to expect. There are some pretty bumpy roads around here, so I was ok with it. :)

I rode at 3 months and we got the very back row. UGH! It was the bumpiest ride that I have ever been on. I regretted my choice that time. Had I gotten more toward the middle or front I might have had a different experience.

I love it, its my favorite ride in all of Disney. I find it a little bouncy, but less so than off roading on any other vehicle. (Four wheelers, snowmobiles, et.al.).

But I wouldn't ride it while pregnant. I had a very difficult time GETTING pregnant, so I wasn't about do do anything that might involve a possible miscarriage (or anything that I'd blame myself if I did miscarry).

Five months is usually fairly safe.. but do you have a history of miscarriage? I rode it plenty of times while pregnant, but I had easy pregnancies. I also rode it with babies and toddlers, and they were fine. Its just a bumpy truck ride.
