Sad to say that we are completely

cseca,
Thank you for the review and photos. We'll be at VGF in a one bedroom for a week in Dec and a week in Jan. I love listening to classical piano music in the foyer. It's so Grand!!!

Great to hear such good feedback so far!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Thinking of booking for a quick 4 day getaway, just the two of us next Dec!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 This will be a one park day and the remaining a time to relax and enjoy the resort!!!!!!:woohoo:

Can't wait! Sounds BEAUTIFUL!:dance3:

Has anyone stayed Ina studio or 2 bedroom lockoff yet? Curious about closet space since lack of storage in studio and also if the alcove that connects the studio to one bedroom could be used.

Just returned and as I posted earlier, there is a glitch with how the studio was designed which has led to one of the under the bed drawers not opening.

The closet was quite large for the two of us. The connecting alcove is spacious for stacking your own things but there are no shelves. I miss the key rack/thin shelf in the beach club studios that could hold or keys/passes/coats etc.

We are back in a couple of weeks. I'm going to ask if they plan on doing anything about the non-opening drawer under the bed as I did bring it to the attention of a couple of employees.

Thanks so much. Yes, the drawer situation seems to be something they need to resolve. Do the drawers go all away across to other side? I almost think leaving one drawer and the other side open might be a better solution. I was thinking the same thing about a shelf would be nice. We were considering bringing some sort of bin to just put everything in on the TV stand or even a few hooks that could be used on hangers

Oh drat all this post has me thinking is we need to add on more points at VGF and i thought we were finished too.

It is a disease....

Trust me I know the feeling.
Until DH made me run the numbers. Then I just can't justify the additional cost it'll take us to add on.

The numbers to us adds up to about
$210/night at BWV
$300/night at BLT
$400/night at GFV
In a 1br standard view in May

I just can't justify the additional cost yet.
Maybe when we win a lottery or something

Quick question - and I'm sure this has been answered already in a gazillion other posts, so my apologies - I see that you talk in your original post about obtaining a KTTW card.

I had 'assumed' that with VGF being brand new, that room locks would be tied to Magic Bands (and that MB's would be part of the ongoing FP+ testing). Guessing my assumption is incorrect???

Sorry - I'm a Disneyland/VGC kinda guy and haven't followed the whole MB/FP+ saga very closely, but we do have 4 nights at VGF in February prior to hopping onto the Fantasy.

The KTTW cards at WDW are RFID with new locks at all resorts. The MB's use the same technology. My guess is that Disney wants you to use the MB's but they will also use the KTTW cards. Both point to your account for room access, charging, FP+, etc.

We just got back from a split stay here and I must say it was wonderful! My kids loved it and we loved being that close to the MK! We added a contract-the disease is real! lol

What Bill said ... :)

MB definitely opens your room in GFV but they were still handing out KTTW card when we were there for back up.
As I mentioned on my review, they were having trouble printing one of our KTTW cards. And finally after 4th try they were able to print it but it only works for opening room door, nothing else.

By the time you arrive it might be possible for them to have gone away with KTTW cards but nobody knows yet.

Oh yeah, the dreaded disease...

CONGRATS! pixiedust:

Staying in a dedicated 2 bedroom lake view in Feb. does anyone think it will have fireworks views? Seeing those standard views I don't think so now.

IMO VGF doesn't have a fireworks view. There isn't a good line of sight to the MK, maybe from the GV's.

The lake views face towards the wedding pavilion and the Poly. You might be able to see high fireworks from your balcony but a better view would be in front of the GV or from Narcoossee's.

We are debating between VGF and BLT for our next stay. Does the walk to the monorail become an issue? We don't have kids so no stroller issues. It seems in the amount of time you walk to the monorail at VGF you could walk to the MK from BLT.

On our recent trip DH was trying to drop me off at the TTC but somehow missed the sign. He ended up dropping me off at the GF and I had to run to the monorail to make my Keys to the Kingdom tour. It felt really far then but being late may have made me not objective. :rotfl2:

I don't think we would consider it an issue we do walk from BLT as the monorail has to go right round to get to the MK so walking is definitely quicker but if staying at the GF the MK is the next stop so the monorail should be very quick even if you do have to walk a bit

I think it might bother me more on the way back. We tend to your until we are fit to drop so take the monorail back. BLT is great because it is the first stop

For me staying at the GF would be all about easy access to the fab restaurants and that would swing it for me. We set of for Narcooses from BLT with over an hour to spare thinking we have left plenty time. Of course the boats were massively delayed and the monorail went down so we just made it. For me the evenings at GF would be well worth it

Not at all. The walk isn't bad especially if you don't have strollers. Also the resort is so pretty that you won't mind.
Really I promise :)

If you take the monorail to MK it's only 1 stop.
If you take the boat back to GF from MK it's 1 stop as well.
:)

Thanks! I am glad I stumbled on to this thread or the whole boat thing never would have occured to me! All this debate and who knows if I have any shot of booking at 7 months.

Welcome :)

Good luck!
