That photo just gets me, every time I see it.

This soldier's funeral was not too far from where I live (I'm in Iowa) and it's of course, rightly so, been in the news quite a bit. Many of the businesses and schools here, if not most, have been flying their flags at half staff.

I just tear up thinking about that poor sweet puppy, and how he must not understand what's going on. Or maybe he does. Dogs are very intuitive little creatures.

I was glad to read that he is going to live with his soldier's best friend, so he'll be loved and taken care of.

I wonder what it says on his vest when he breaths you can see letters I wonder if he was a a dog in the unit and he was his partner. I am glad his friend taking care of him.

As an fellow Iowan & Hawkeye fan, I really hope the University Athletic Department can make this happen and better yet, possibly dedicate their season to Mr. Tumilson & the sacrifice he & the other Navy SEALS made for our country!

I cried when they showed the clip on CNN last week. I have been telling everyone I know about this clip, it was just so sad.

Such a sad photo. But I'm glad this was shared with the public - it honors both the soldier who lost his life in the line of duty, and his loving bond with this sweet dog.
