I was informed today that my husband is "burnt out" on Disney:eek: My oh my,how I will miss him sitting next to me on all the rides. He has also informed me that he no longer wants to get APs-AS IF!! Good thing for me I have 3 children who still LOVE my Happy Place, and while Im sure there will come a day when maybe one of them will side with their father:rotfl2:that day is NOT today-so farewell my LOVE!!! Ill see ya when we get back! PEACE OUT!!!:hippie:

Ha ha! I like your post, that is funny. Sometimes it can be nice to have separate vacations. I would choose a nice post card then mail it to hubby. :)

Have a magical day!

I think your resolution is perfect. You and the kids can have fun and he can stay home and work on the car or cut the grass or maybe even do the laundry. :lmao:

Oh yeah, I'm there too. My dh went on the annual family vay-cay to DL for about 5 years and then told me we weren't going anymore. He was tired of it. Since *I* wasn't tired of it I just found others to go with. My kids come once a year and the other 3-4 times I go with my sister, friend, or adult dd. I love the adult-only girl trips and I love being there with my little girls, who LOVE DL. My dh goes off on a golf weekend with his buddies every now and then and it works well for us to have our separate Happy Places.

Yep - I hear ya! My muggle hubby has never been a big fan of Disneyland. He will go every so often so most of my trips are with my son and some friends. He is going on the next trip in June. We are staying at the VGC, which I know he will love, and going with some very close friends. He doesn't last long at the park when he goes - maybe a few hours - and just goes back to the hotel and hangs out at the pool or goes running. We travel a lot both separately and together so we both get to do what we love!

I have happy, however, that my DS (14 yrs) has said he will never get tired of Disneyland! (I asked him before we bought into DVC!).

In the same boat here!! So I booked our Halloween trip without him. My mom is coming and we are bringing my sister and nephew for his 1st trip!!

Thank Goodness there are still plenty of others who still love the park and would love you to join them, or come to join you. I am sure you will always be able to find someone. Maybe your husband just needs a well needed break. I am sure he will one day cave and go "Havent been there in awhile... so Lets go". :goodvibes At least he had been willing before to get AP's which means there is that spark for the park somewhere. Hehe!

Haha! Very funny and great attitude ploeb! My DH is kind of the same way - he can get kinda burnt out on the Disney thing. So I cut back on the DL trips. We haven't been since early December '09, yeah that may not seem long but I am going through withdrawals :rotfl:

I managed to convince him to go back in early June with the offer of staying at the GCH for the 1st time. He's looking forward to that. As long as he gets plenty of downtime and non-park time, he enjoys it. :)

My husband declared this years ago. Since then I have managed to still get my Disney fix without him. This year he is meeting us in San Diego AFTER our trip to Disneyland....but with the 5 for 3, I've planned another stop at Disney on our drive north. I'm hoping our first night at GCV will convince him that he'll have a good time next spring in a villa at WDW! :rotfl:

Just an observation, but have you ever noticed that while the husbands get burned out while the wives are doing all the planning for the trips and we never get burned out?? My DH depends me to do all the planning for our surprise trip in Feb/11. Then when we leave I let him do all the stressing out over the trip, and I sit back and relax and enjoy it. When I decided to go on a solo trip, I kept looking at other places to visit, and kept ending back at DL for a solo vacation. Found a screaming deal on airfares last weekend and sweet taked DH into me having my solo trip this year instead of next. Ended up getting a better deal on the airfare than even what I expected, and gotta love my DH:love::love::love::love: for feeding my addiction to DL.

We are the same way. I go at least 5 or 6 times a year. He only will go once. I carefully pick which weekend I want him with me most each year (usually it's my b-day but this year it's Mother's Day - we will be there in a few hours!). The other times I go with DD23 and/or friends. He loves to fish. So he fishes and I do Disney. Works for us.:thumbsup2

HaHaHa! I'm so glad you are just going to go without him! I've heard so many people say how their spouse/significant other doesn't like it or doesn' want to go and they are always looking for ways to get them interested. I think it's best to just have the uninterested person stay home. You'll always have more fun if you're with people who want to be there too!

I went to wdw in feb with adult dd for the first time alone. We froze, but had a great time. Leave for disneyland in 23 days with teen dd for our first alone Disney vac. Oh sorry, we aren't going for Disney we are going to look at harps. It just happens that one of the places "just happens" to be right there.

Haven't noticed that.

My DH will kick and groan but then turns into a giddy school boy once we hit the gates!:lmao: He keeps saying he is "done" but somehow we manage to go at least once a year. :rolleyes1 Maybe it is because for Disney vacations I do all the planning and all he has to do is show up and open his wallet!! :rotfl2:

:littleangel:Ok-Frankly I really dont see what he can complain about-I do all the planning-"hello" got us into Club 33 last summer-AAANNNNDDD the entire trip is paid for when he arrives. All he has to do is pay for a few meals, because I buy gift cards all year long:wizard: Plus-anything extra like Build A Bear,Bubba Gumps I have already accounted for it in "MY" budget. LOL!:thumbsup2. Now,with that being said....my husband is REALLY wonderful, and does take me and our kids on other great vacations-I just dont get,"I cant do Disney anymore,we have ridden all the rides". Saayyy what?::confused: He has been to Hawaii-why go again? I make note of all of this because I will forward all of this to my VERY Good Looking Hubby(are you listening honey?). My youngest is 8 and then 10-15-and 24. So you see?? The "Magic:headache:" is almost over, and soon it will be "take us to the Mountain:sick:UGH! But like I said, I will see ya when we get back,I hope you go and enjoy these amazing little people we have brought into this CRAZY world!!:hourglass-time is a wasting!

Well, you have a number of years left for your 8 year old. And then guess what? It won't be long for GRANDKID TIME! :woohoo: That's the best!

I always say, it's my job as Grandpa to spoil my little princess. And I take my job VERY SERIOUSLY! :lmao:

Really, I love my status as GrandBob. I get to spoil her rotten, then hand her back and say "Hey! This kid is spoiled!"

Keep the faith, baby. Trust in the Force. With any kind of luck, you'll have reasons for DIStrips until you're old, gray, and barely able to get into a Matterhorn Bobsled.

-Bob
Milking the grandpa gig for all it's worth.
