Sad Sad Day!!!

Well, you have a number of years left for your 8 year old. And then guess what? It won't be long for GRANDKID TIME! :woohoo: That's the best!

I always say, it's my job as Grandpa to spoil my little princess. And I take my job VERY SERIOUSLY! :lmao:

Really, I love my status as GrandBob. I get to spoil her rotten, then hand her back and say "Hey! This kid is spoiled!"

And there's always stretching it out to nieces and nephews too! We have a nephew the same age as our DGS so we take them all.:rotfl:

To think my DS said his kid wasn't going to turn into a Disney freak like the rest of us. DGS is 3 yr old and loves DLR and DCL. :goodvibes

As you can see I take my job very seriously too! :cloud9:

Keep the faith, baby. Trust in the Force. With any kind of luck, you'll have reasons for DIStrips until you're old, gray, and barely able to get into a Matterhorn Bobsled.

Milking the grandpa gig for all it's worth.

Ah....... I think that is very nice indeed! :) And if you should ever feel the need to expand upon such kindness, just drop me a note. :) he he......... :thumbsup2 :rotfl:

I hope that never happens to me.....I do love Disneyland probably more than my husband does: but he still enjoys every time!!!:cool1: I could never imagine going without him:eek::eek: But more power to those who still go on their own:worship:

My DGF has never been to DL, and swears she never will:scared1:. It been me and my DS addiction for the past 10 years, between WDW and DL. She does not want to deal with the crowds, the weather the crowds:rotfl2:. She really sees no point In going year In and year out, but!! after the frist couple of years she has stop trying to talk us out of It, and just has aceppted It, along with all of our disney talk, souveners and me on the Dis borads all the time she still thinks this is like a chat room:confused3:rotfl2:, I even sat here down and try to show her,she cant get over that all we talk about Is Disney:rotfl2:. But I love her for at least supporting our once a year trip,I just wish she could see our DS there at the park, that she would love:love:

 My brother was the same way. Dead set against going to DL or WDW as it is an "Over rated children's Park" as he put it. I told him he wont "Get it" until he get to the park and experiences it for himself. He even bugged me to no end for being on this site and talking to others who love an "Over rated childrens park". So 2 years ago the man finally sucked it up and went with me. He has been begging to go back for the last 2 years, and is so excited to be coming with me again at the end of the month. :rotfl2: He said Disneyland was NOTHING like what he expected. He expected a few carnival rides and cheesy mascots running around.

I am sure you already know this, but if your DGF went with you, there would be many things she would just LOVE TO PIECES!!!! But without seeing it she just cant get the big picture. Disney magic is not something you can explain to people. You can try till your blue in the face, but its something they so need to see for themselves.

It would be my pleasure, Giselle. But hey, I'm still in my late 50's. Do you really think we could convince people you're my granddaughter?

GrandBob, I LOVE your style!!! :lovestruc Since I'm close to the same age as you I doubt I could get away with being a granddaughter, but I'll volunteer to be Gisele's mom :rotfl:

Awww, now I'm really feelin' the love! :grouphug:

OK, sounds like a party! :woohoo:  :dance3:

We're gonna have to make room for my DW, not to mention DizHe, all your little princesses, Gisele, and my little grand-princess.

Party time! :cheer2:

Luckily for me my daughter (19) also has the Disney gene since the rest of my family, including my XH, doesn't. lol He even refused to accompany us on her sweet 16 trip.

When and if I date again, a love to Disney is going to be a must.

My last four trips have been without the hubby. I love to go to the Mickeys Halloween Treat and wear my custumes, he thinks I am nuts, but what is a girl to do when she grew up with Disney. His first trip to Disneyland was when his first child was a teenager, I went when the park first opened when I was three and have been going ever since. My little granddaughter wants to be a writer someday so she can be rich and buy me a room to live in forever at the California Grand. Cute. Even when I die I told my daughter to bring me to Disneyland in a baggie, but don't take me on the Tower of Terror, just let me hang out with Walt and Mickey.

Anyway you can have more fun when the hubby stays home because you won't have to hear, do you really need to buy that, Im tired, I want a beer, lets go back to the room and watch TV, BORING! Keep the hubby home and save yourself a lot of arguing.

One more thing, we are going to Florida in next month and I want to go to Epcot, I love Epcot and he wants to look at golf courses. I told him you go boy, I going to Epcot even if I am by myself. I hate flying and I am not flying across the country to look at golf courses that I will never play. So Epcot or bust! I love DW but since we have DL in my home state I like to skip it while in Florida.

My wife has told me that she doesn't want to get our AP's renewed next year. She was reluctant to do it this year, but I pretty much told her that I was doing it anyways. I have even promised to not go as often. She likes it once we get there.

She was saying that she wants to do some different stuff. So I ask her to name the different stuff, her response... Winchester mystery house and universal studios. I have been although she hasn't and they are duds. I am so sad. I guess I will have to take a season off of DLR and do "other" stuff to make her happy.

Winchester is good for a couple of hours. Universal for 1/2, or a full day at the outside. Suggestion -- find a good fare sale (Southwest?) and take her up to San Jose for Winchester. Or down to LA for USH. When you're done, you can then ask: "OK, so what are we gonna do for a real vacation this year?"

YES!......... Sounds good to me! I will be waiting for everyone outside with my bags packed and Tinkerbell earrings on! :) :cloud9:... and clothing of course too! ;)

Ha! I live not very far from Winchester Mystery House. I think even the 10 minute drive is not worth it ;) I can't imagine taking a flight to see it!!! :-O

I have visited the Winchester Mystery House just once so far. I enjoyed the grand tour, however... I did feel a bit rushed through. And the admission in my honest opinion, is a tad bit pricey. I would like to attend one of their candlelight tours, or is it flashlight? I think flashlight, actually. Anyway... yeah, that tour.. And maybe another full tour of the home and grounds. I need to bring a camera.
