I answered your quote with why it's on the DIS boards. The DIS boards comprises of many different topics--not just Disney. There are appropriate forums and the Community Board is perfectly fine for non-Disney topics in fact that's what I would wager 99% of the threads on the Community Board end up being.

Now as for the topic of the thread it's pushing 2 1/2 years old- a Zombie thread with the last response before yours being September 28th, 2015. I wouldn't lose sleep over the thread. YMMV.

I've just recently noticed the links to various threads (some very old) are back at the bottom of the page display along with the ads. I'll guess that's why zombie threads are having a resurgence. (I don't see these links on my laptop where I'm running adblock, only on my iPad.)

Probably from parents who'd after this incident would ask little Emerson, Colton, and Brian to talk in the car about their feelings on why they're ignoring her, and then after continuing to disregard her, take them out for ice cream. With sprinkles, even!!!

I'm with you OP. SAD SAD state of things these days. I bet those kids were exhausted from the night before with homework, religious studies, basketball practice and all that texting. When do those poor kids get a break!!! LOL
