Sad news out of HHHI.....Dye's Gullah Fixin's

Dye, of Dye's Gullah Fixin's is a good friend of Lisa and I. We were in contact with her tonight and I am sad to say that she and her business did not fare well. She lost everything. Both her home and the restaurant flooded, badly enough to render everything a total loss. As she said though, at least they are alive. She and her husband Vernon evacuated to Ridgeland where the majority of her family lives and then everyone was evacuated to a shelter. She has yet to make it home to HHI, but had someone still there check on her condo and business. This breaks my heart......

Lisa's and mine too. Lisa does Dye's website and has for several years now. To see the message on her site that says "Closed indefinitely" makes me so sad. We have started a YouCaring, fundraising page to see if we can raise some money to help her get her business back on its feet. Whatever we can raise will help. She is such a hard working woman....I just hate this for her.
