Sad news about my Lab, Hunter...SAD UPDATE PG 2

tuffcookie, I am so very sorry to hear about Hunter We had huskies for over 30 years and I always stayed with them when it was their time to go over the rainbow bridge. As extremely hard as it was for me, I did it so they would be surrounded by love and hear my voice til the very end. I am sure your Hunter will spend his last time here surrounded by your love and comforted by your presence. Please know that there are many people who are thinking and praying for you. Good luck.

I'm so sorry. He's a beautiful dog, I'm sure you've had many fun times together. My thoughts are with you, I know it's so hard. We had to put our beloved lab to sleep last summer because of a brain tumor and still miss her. Dogs are the best, it's so hard that they are with us for such a short time.

I have a yellow lab, "Kirby" who was in the hospital all last week and almost died, so I know how difficult this is, heart-breaking. He is a beautiful boy. Just love him every minute. So sorry you didn't get better news. I'm thinking of you and your family.

I saw your update and my heart aches for you. I agree with another poster who said not to mourn him while he is here. Enjoy the last precious days. Hug him, hold him. It sounds odd but you will comfort each other during this time. And even though your son is a young adult, please make sure he understands it is OK to mourn. He is at a difficult age. Grief is grief regardless of age and it hurts.

We struggled a year with health issues with one of our dogs. We put our beautiful dog through hell to keep her breathing. It was wrong. When we got the liver cancer diagnosis for our oldest dog last fall, we brought him home for a final night, loved him, said goodbye. With a sad, but peaceful heart helped him pass. Know that what you will grant Hunter is a peaceful and dignified crossing. You end his pain, but bring that onto yourself. Stay strong, but have a peaceful heart. You, your son and Hunter will be in my thoughts.

I'm so sorry, Tuffcookie.

We had to put our yellow lab, Doc, down on April 21. He was 7. He bit my nephew and had a change in personality. Vet thinks a possible brain tumor.

I'm sorry you are going through this heartache also. {{{hugs}}}

With a heavy heart and tears in my eyes I think this was said beautifully. One thing I do regret with our old doxie (crossed over in 2005) was that I had almost no pictures of myself with him, usually the one taking the pictures. Get some with your baby and possibly some with the whole family. Its the hardest part of loving our furbabies but the best thing we can to for them when the time comes. Hunter is very fortunate to have had such a loving life.
