My state keeps digging itself into deeper and more backward holes on the daily. I grew up here during a time where our state was governed fairly with all its citizens in mind. Today's ruling just set Texas back decades. The good ol boys were locked and ready for it.Since this issue has been handed back to the States it's even more important to take part in your local elections. 61% of the people believe abortion should be legal. They better all go out and vote.
I have never felt more like a second class citizen than today. I and every other girl and woman in the country have no control over our own healthcare.I just keep looking at my four daughters and fighting back tears.
They have lost so much today. We all have. My DMs are open to anyone who needs to have a sympathetic ear. Love to all who are hurting today.
And don’t forget to make contributions to the campaigns of candidates that support your beliefs.Since this issue has been handed back to the States it's even more important to take part in your local elections. 61% of the people believe abortion should be legal. They better all go out and vote.
I'm in NY but my son is at school in Austin. He was considering remaining in Austin after graduation but is now rethinking that idea.My state keeps digging itself into deeper and more backward holes on the daily. Yep, especially in the Texas border towns. Women will head across the bridge, have it done in an unsafe environment and die.I'll say one more thing before this eventually gets locked. If you think this will prevent woman from getting one, you are sadly mistaken. This will only prevent women from being able to get one safely.
Even better - sign up at your local headquarters to volunteer. And don’t forget to make contributions to the campaigns of candidates that support your beliefs.
This makes me so sad but I totally understand. As a native Texan, I am ashamed of my state in so many ways. Things are only going to get worse here before they get better.I'm in NY but my son is at school in Austin. He was considering remaining in Austin after graduation but is now rethinking that idea.
Yup. These laws are in place to give women access to safe healthcare. What happened here today will not prevent women from getting one. They will get one in an unsafe way and many will die because of it.Yep, especially in the Texas border towns. Women will head across the bridge, have it done in an unsafe environment and die.
But don't lose sight of that - things will get better. It'll be a fight but things will get better if we stand together.Things are only going to get worse here before they get better.
And it’s great to share suggestions of things that people can do to combat feeling helpless. But don't lose sight of that - things will get better. It'll be a fight but things will get better if we stand together.
Just read it. Some of the big tech companies in Texas are doing the same thing.Did anyone see Disney's response?
Human rightsWhy all the teeth-gnashing. It just gives rights back to the states where they belong.
Suddenly, I can stomach the cost of our upcoming vacation. All I have to do is tell myself part of it is going to that. Easy. Take more money, Disney.Did anyone see Disney's response?
Because your right to be a human with bodily autonomy shouldn't change as you cross state lines. Why all the teeth-gnashing. It just gives rights back to the states where they belong.
