Well other than our football team this year:(....I had to "gasp" winterize the camper yesterday. Since we are not going anywhere this winter, I'll just have to sit and look at the camper from the window. Talk about a sad day.

I winterized a couple of weeks ago, but have to get the trailer for some winter travel. I will be installing the window film over doors and windows. This is in preparation for our Feb Disney trip.

Do you ever go sleep in the camper, over the winter, because you WANT to (as I know if one were parked outside our window, it would be us d as the "dog house" on occasion)?
It's a nice looking camper! Our accommodations aren't that lux!

Can't say I've ever done that, but I am probably going to winterize tonight. I was hoping to get one more weekend in. It's low 70s here mid week, but the weekend is supposed to be cold again. The DW won't camp if it is too cold.

We winterized our fifth wheel today, in 72 degree weather! But, we are heading to the Fort, arriving on Dec. 29, but knew that freezing temperatures would arrive before our trip. Much before. Sad day for us too, especially after that football game Sunday night!!

Man, I would freeze in the winter here, don't have enough propane, only have 2 30lb tanks!

Here in Mississippi I sit and wait and watch the projected temps. It's not often that we see temps low enough to damage the water lines. I keep the RV antifreeze (4 gallons) on standby. Luckily mine is easy and I can siphon the antifreeze straight out of the container and just open the faucets.

Mine has been winterized since august of 2014 .. Yah thats a sad and long story, but I did get 2 weeks at FW before I put her away. But when out of the blue, my DS 9 asked last weekend to go camping over this Christmas (which I knew was out) the wife came back with how about we go camping over thanksgiving.. !!!! There is a camping god!!

1) We also winterize here in Orlando.
2) We wear white socks under our sandals.

Seriously, you poor souls! Just watch us "northern snowy cheeseheads " tough it out in your cold weather!! Last time we dare not take out our winter gloves cuz we were in Florida and you do not need those "bleeping" gloves in Florida. Nope. Not gonna wear them. But what happens? You pay the Mouse lots of money for flimsy knit gloves cuz you are too cold and lazy to go back to the Fort to get your gloves underneath your compartments that you will need when you finally leave WDW for your last day driving home! We have humbled ourselves and will not make that mistake again!! Might not do the white sock/sandal thingy however!

I don't trust winter weather anywhere!! I'm a deep south girl who nearly froze in Dec. 2010. Down to 28* several nights, wind, and highs in 40's. Yes, we brought hats, scarves, coats, gloves - still wasn't any fun!

All the flowers/poinsettias under wraps, or flower beds with 'pardon our look, Jack Frost visited' (paraphrasing).

With that said, plan to try again 1st of Feb to get another visit out of our AP's - hope for decent weather! :sunny: A girl can wish!! :D

What is this winterization?

... Oh! When I have to switch my AC unit to that odd heat setting and warm air comes from the floor! And outside, the alligators are less active.

:)

From West Florida, Slidell area. Do not miss the "joys" of winter one bit.

rajak, tonight is not so sad. Good game for the Huskers.

Bama Ed

PS - i still have hopes of going camping this winter

Yep. Somebody commented that they went to football game and a dance party broke out at the end. So much is being made of the the last call but that's just the way it goes. Sometimes you're on the good side of calls and sometimes you're on the bad side of calls. They also missed a few PI calls during the game that could have resulted in TD's. There's nothing saying we would not have scored the next play or two anyway if the call had been reversed. I wish I could still go camping yet but not until next March or April.

One other thing I forgot about the football game Bama Ed. Steve Spurrier was there to attend a game, man you should have read the rumors on the local paper website, they were funny!

Wow... So much content, so much I want to say, so little time. :(

This year was the first year I winterized WITHOUT RV Antifreeze in the lines. I hate the way it makes the water taste/smell. I put it only in the drains. The lines I "Blew" out with an air hose instead. It was more work, but if it gets rid of that "Taste" it will be well worth it.

I know people that do this, as long as all the faucets are open and all drain plugs are out it should be fine. I rinse mine enough in spring I don't notice any odd taste, (or maybe it's just me) LOL

We dont drink from the faucets we bring bottle water. For tea we buy the gallon water from Wal Mart for $.98.

I bet it could make a funny taste though.
