We are staying at the Poly for the first time in June. One of the things we were most looking forward to was watching MK fireworks from the beach. We will be there Sunday through Sat morning and of those days only ONE day shows fireworks and/or Spectromagic at MK :(

We want our kids to be in the park for that - they've never seen Spectromagic or Tink fly.

So that leaves us with - NO NIGHTS TO WATCH FIREWORKS FROM POLY BEACH!!!!!!!

There are 2 E-ride nights that week. Do they by chance do fireworks for those guys we might catch???

The only fireworks shows are the ones listed on the WDW site. :( They can still watch the water parade every night on the beach. :)

Me too. I'm very disappointed. We actually had to reschedule ressies to take full advantage of park hours and parades. Remember when the park was open to eleven every night and sometimes they had two parades a night?

I remember those days, great weren't they. Just like the days were great before 9/11 and the sagging economy which has affected everything including Disney.

Gee I am beginning to sound like my Dad, :)

Hold on to some hope! Last June they didn't stick to the hours and events that were posted before we left. We had fireworks everynight but one (2nd wk of June). The night we didn't there was an lighting storm with down pours. Before we left it looked like it does this yr on there calendar. So you never can tell with Disney , maybe they want to make the fireworks part of the surprise pixie dust for all of us!;)

The hours and parade/fireworks schedule leaves a lot to be desired, especially for June! This time of the year is typically fairly busy--obviously not spring break, Christmas, July 4th busy--but busy nonetheless.

I don't recall that the MK hours were so drastically reduced last year before we left. I also don't recall that the schedule had only two days of Spectro & FITS per week either. It may well have been, I'll have to check my schedule from last year. I also think we should take the current schedule as an "outline" of what might be the schedule. Hours/schedules have a way of changing after you've arrived. My personal pet peeve is being forced to fight the major crowds for these two events given the limited performances AND the inflexibility of it. When you stay at an MK resort, it's kind of nice to wander over in the evening for these events if you've a mind to.

As has been said before--these e-nights have created a double edged sword. If you want an evening experience, along the lines we all became accustomed to in the 90s (and pre-911), you must pay the piper. I, personally, don't care for e-night. When I want to experience MK at night, I want the total package--not just the big ticket e-rides.

Anyway, fingers crossed the hours/fireworks/parade fairy will grant our wishes for some longer days and sparkling nights! ;)

I'm in the same boat with mousetrom. I talked my DW into taking our 2DSs to DW and to stay in the Poly, which I did when I was 10 years old. I told her how great it was to watch the fireworks from the beach. She finally agreed, and now it will only be going on one night while we are there. I am really hoping for additional nights for fireworks.

I did send a letter last week to Disney about my situation, may not help but made me feel better. I saw where they added some hours and fireworks to the week before I go. Maybe it will happen to my week also.

Here's hoping for some more Disney magic:earseek:

We're disappointed with the shortened hours and events too. We'll be there 6/10 - 6/15 and it just won't seem the same without fireworks every night!

All the discounts and reduced prices are great, but along with the great prices come reduced hours, events and services. Given a choice, I'd give up the great rates to have it the way it used to be!

Same thing happened to us for the beginning of May 2003-we were pleasantly surprised when they increased hours and added fireworks and spectro. Hold out hope!

mom_rules is right. We were disappointed that there was no spectro or fireworks the first week in May but just before we left for our trip they added some. We did get to see our favorite Disney parade after all and it made our trip so much more special. Hang in there guys. There's still hope. Wishing all you June visitors a great trip. {Wish I was going with you. LoL}

Just to let you know, we were at the Poly the week of 5/12. There was only 1 fireworks scheduled that week too, on a tuesday.

On wednesday, we received a message on our room phone that there would be special fireworks that evening at 10:30pm just for resort guests. Lo and behold, there was.

Don't get yourself all worked up about details, everything usually works itself out. Have a great trip.:p

They also had reduced park hours and alternate closings of Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon scheduled- but that changed too!!

Hey folks!

Keep in mind that it is much easier for Disney to add things to the schedule than to remove them. The news that extra fireworks will be run makes everyone happy - imagine the uproar if they announced that tonight's SM/FITS has been cancelled! There'd be a riot on the Polynesian beach! :p

I know it makes things harder to plan - a sudden new FITS might mean a PS reschedule, but keep the faith. We're going the first week of October, so we're just hoping we get at least one SM.
