So tragic...I simply could not imagine something like this happening on our vacation

We've stayed at Ft. Wilderness many times ... you have a lot of unsupervised children out and about and those buses are huge. Just like the school buses and metro buses in your hometown it is hard to see if a little one crosses in front of you.
This is truly sad and we don't know what happened yet but i know there are many children who are not supervised properly and unfortunate thing can and do happen when children are not watched. That may not be the case here but more and more in this country there are parents who are too busy to watch and take care of thier children. It is a trend that needs to be reversed. Sorry if this offends anyone but if more supervision can keep tragedies like this from happening then i'm all for it.
Looks like he was a local boy riding with a friend. Both boys were wearing helmets. The original story has been updated with more info.
The child was pronounced dead at the scene, i thought they dont pronounce that on disney property?
I've been a bit nervous since the story broke. I'm hoping will get confirmation about where the child is from soon. I have so many kids down there right now.
The buses are loud and fast and ruin the whole experience of camping.
