So I am playing with RideMax and I have all the attractions scheduled and allowed myself time to find a spot for the Electrical Parade - it is a must see for me b/c it was the first parade I saw at WDW and haven't seen it since then. Then once DCA closes, my plan is to head over to DLP and just walk around and get some night time photos and if time allows maybe a ride (but I'm not planning on getting a ride in)... I just have a few questions for more experienced DL DISers...

1. How long is the Electrical Parade and where is a good spot to watch it?

2. Depending on when the EP is over and how long it takes me to get to DLP - is there an attraction/ride that I should experience at night or would it best to just devote the hour or so to walking and night photos?

3. RideMax says DLP closes at 11:00, but the DLP calendar says 12:00, which is correct? (I would think the DLP calendar)

4. Has anyone done the single rider at Soarin over Ca? Did you have bad seats on it where you had a lot of feet in your view?

Thanks in advance!! :goodvibes

I watched it last time from the entrance plaza, where the Sun fountain is, was a good spot I thought, and relatively close to the entrance. It took me probably 20 minutes to get into DL, but you get there right in time for the fireworks, so the crowd on Main Street will be bad. We got on the train and went around to NO square and got off and went and rode Splash. Another option would be to walk to DTD and take the monorail into Tomorrowland.

Rides that are really better at night would be the materhorn for sure, possibly BTMR, possibly Splash, but I thought the night versions of the last 2 were better at WDW personally.

And yes DL will close at Midnight those days, and as long as your inline by closing time they will let you ride the ride.

Don't worry...all will be good with the EP. Last time i went to the parade I got a good spot to watch with only about 20 min waiting. You won't be too bad going back into DL, but be warned with the fireworks there will be tons of people on Main Street. If you can take the train, or go see "First 50 years" and wait until they leave. *personally* I love the fireworks, but if standing and watching is problem..take the train around.

My favorite ride at night is MATTERHORN!! I think you might have a good chance to ride it if you go during the fireworks.

Also, I have done Single Rider at Soarin' tons of times...and sometimes it is hit and miss on where you go. Sometimes I get a great seat, and other times I don't. But, it is great if you want to get in quicker. :)

Enjoy your trip!!! I hope you have a BLAST!!

We watched the parade last night and we had no problem finding a place to view it (I've never had a problem getting a spot for it actually.) We watched it from the entrance to the Hollywood Backlot where it ends, and as soon as it ended the fireworks at Disneyland started. Many people stayed in the entrance area of DCA to view them and it was a bit congested to try to leave. There were a lot more people viewing them from the esplanade between the two parks, so I opted to try to not reenter Disneyland to pick up my packages I had dropped off. The train was going last night during the fireworks, so if you wanted to go back in, I would take the train since Main Street is absolutely crazy during and after fireworks.
