Since I have been a member of DVC I haven't had this issue of having to put in Waitlists for a vacation and I do understand why but with this comes my confusion. So here are my questions if I see 1 of my days available should I book that and change my waitlist to the other days? and if I did this does that mean I would have to move from one room to another or will an adjustment be made at the the resort and they would keep me in the same room? or would it just be so much easier and better to leave my waitlist for the complete trip, which is Dec 1-5, 2021.

Thanks

Yes, grab whatever days you can and waitlist the rest.

Then once you have all your days, call Member Services to have them combined into a single reservation. Note that the room category has to be EXACTLY the same for them to do this.

I agree with @Nabas. I’d also like to add that you’re allowed to have up to 2 waitlists at a time. In the past I have waitlisted a trip in smaller groups of dates to better my chances. If your waitlist is for 4 nights and only 3 of those nights become available, your waitlist won’t pick it up. I’ve waitlisted single nights before, stalked the site until I could get all of the dates I needed, and then either modified the reservations myself or called MS and had them group them into one reservation. There’s no guarantee this strategy will always work (especially because those dates are extremely popular), and you have to be willing to search randomly throughout the day, but it’s worked for me. Good luck!

As long as you have the same room type booked, they will merge for you…assuming same Membership…and you end up with one reservation and no changing rooms.

The shorter the waitlist, the better chance you have so picking up rooms and adjusting is much more likely to get you what you want as DVC does not hold rooms to fill longer waitlists, They go to the next person on the list who needs exactly what showed up.

Livelovedance are my dates(dec 1-5) really popular for DVC resorts? did I miss something going on at Disney?

Thanks

Yes. The first two weeks of December are the most popular with DVC and most owners book right at 11 months. Some even walk them to ensure they get the room, especially if one wants a studio.

Yes, they are very popular with DVC resorts. I think it’s because it’s in the second cheapest travel period, and it’s the beginning of the holiday season so the resorts and parks will be decorated. There could be other reasons that I’m not aware of too!

If I were you, I’d book whatever I could now so I’d have a room, and then check the booking site regularly to try to make changes.

That timeframe has been the most popular DVC time for years now. Always a good thing to book right at 11 months if you want to go then and save yourself trying to pick up dates later. But cancellations happen so it's not impossible to get them later.
