s/o What misspelling bothers you most?

Too many to list for me, but California Governor Garvin Newsom probably is getting ticked as someone who had little national recognition before the coronavirus that a lot of national print and electronic media can't spell his last name. Can't tell you how many times I have seen it spelled Newsome instead of Newsom.

When people use the verb dominate in place of the adjective dominant.

Irregardless is an interesting word. English is a living language so spellings and meanings change. But my 1965 High School Dictionary includes it. Yes, 1965 as in 55 year old Dictionary.
Sort of like the word Gay. The meaning keeps changing. I grew up with it meaning happy, as in the theme song to the Flintstones "have a gay old time"
Then it became the word to describe homosexuality.
It morphed again for my kids in high school 92001-2009) to mean something that was "wrong" about the same time that LBGT became the term for homosexuality.
And that is now out of style, replaced by LBGTQ

English is a living language so spellings and meanings change.
Which is why I am never really bothered when people use what is considered at the moment to be the incorrect word or spelling.

Grammar and punctuation have certainly changed over time as well. An example is the use of multiple exclamation marks.

I still hear mostly young people say “that’s so gay” to describe something that I would describe as lame, corny or stupid. I HATE to hear that from their sarcastic mouths!

Misspellings that bother me:
- "Per Say"
- Whatever the iPhone corrects my words to, even if I've spelled everything correctly.
- And on a personal level, I'm still not 100% used to seeing things like "neighbour" and "favourite" without a "u" in it. This despite having lived in the US and/or worked for US-based companies for over 10 years. So it bothers me when I have to go back and correct things that I "misspelled" when I'm writing for the US market vs Canadian market.

I doesn’t now y peoople cant spel Wright. It’s knot that haard. I’m gueesinv they didn’t go to scholl and learned how to spel. I was spieling be championn in my scholl.

My name when people are replying to an email that I sent. It’s right there.

Otherwise, then/than is really bothersome to me.
Or when they post something to me or respond on Facebook. Don't you have to sort of be looking at my name....????

Not really misspellings, but punctuation. Mine is the use of an apostrophe for the plural form.

If it's a typo, I get it. However, I see repeated use of apostrophes for the plural form and it seems like some people think that's how to pluralize a noun.

Remember we have many friends across the pond here. Some of their words are spelled different.
