Ok,...I've been a "lurker" of this board since 2004...I've posted a couple times here and there, but now I have a couple of questions for you rv owners/or if you have any knowledge of it :)

We recently have become owners of a 1986 holiday rambler presidential. Its got...um, Character:rotfl2:....it is in need of new curtains,...mainly for the front window...the old ones, literally are shredded,...almost like dry-rotting. I've done some looking online trying to figure out if it is easier for me to buy new ones or just sew them myself. Do any of you have a company that you would recommend or if any of you diy'selfer's :woohoo:know of a pattern that you use?

If you sew they are pretty easy to make. I bought pinch pleated curtains and just shorted them. You can also just buy fabric and sew pleater tape across the top. I happened to get a really deal on the insulated curtains. Hope this helps. We have a 1983 Pace Arrow that we have renovated. It also had character when we bought it. Renovating it was fun. We personalized it to meet our needs.

we just replaced ours in our MH front window. we bought panels from jcpenny i think and had them sewed together. we bought the blackout ones and it keeps the light out very well. you will find that doing them yourself will save you half the cost. Happy Camping!

We bought ours from camping world just last year for our MH. They fit perfectly. No sewing required which was good news for me since I don't sew.:)

I'm going to tackle sewing some curtains for the bunk window in our TT this weekend. It had metal blinds and I never liked them (the kids and dogs mess them up and it annoys me).

We camped at the lake this weekend and my autistic son was in the TT with the dog and left and forgot she was inside... she is a rescued lab so she freaks out when she thinks she is being deserted...she ate the blinds on the back window! And cut her mouth too. Poor baby! So now I will be sewing some curtains to cover that back window. I have some great red fabric with darker red mickey heads on it so I think I am going to get some lining and make them out of that. Our TT is decorated in Mickey... throws, pillows, dishtowels, sheets.

I will post pics when I get the final product completed... think I am going to make some shams for pillows too. Depends how much material I have left!

thanks for all the tips...:goodvibes

figment...sounds really cute...you should definately post some pics of your finished product, I would love to see it...plus your TT sounds really cute too...Would love to see some rv's/TT/PU that are decorated in Mickey or anything DW related!

I need some ideas, because our interior is strangely blue and peach:confused3 so not so sure....how I am gonna make it our own as of yet:eek: BUT am totally open to suggestions, and like I said would luv to see pics!:thumbsup2
