Hey Gang!

We got our reservation confirmation letter for BCV for 3-21 through 4-2 2004. Do I need to callback to clarify the following?:

When I called MS, I requested a dedicated 2-bedroom with 2 Queen beds in the 2nd room. On the confirmation letter it shows:
Vacation home type: TWO BEDROOM DEDICATED
The last I heard...not all dedicated homes have 2 queens in the 2nd bedroom. Should I call MS back to clarify? Of course, this is a request and not guarantee.

I'm considering changing my view preference as well. Currently, it is 'Pool View', but after looking at some aerial photos, I'm not sure if the 'Pool View' has enough action. So, which view has the best people watching activity?

Hey StevenTheGeek -

We just got back from BCV and I honestly don't know which view would be best for people watching. We had a room on the wing pointing to Epcot, and had a sideways Epcot view. There was a view of the lawn and the concrete oval down below - definitely not good for people watching.

I was at the quiet pool several times and saw that there were many rooms overlooking the pool and that would be a decent way to see what's going on down there. The quiet pool is still not where all the action is, however, that would be the SAB pools.

You might want a view of the courtyard between BC and BCV - this would give you a give of the valet and bell desk as well.

Don't know if this helps, but this is what we observed while we were there last week.

Have a great trip - you're gonna love it!!

StevenTheGeek.... Actually, the dedicated 2 bedrooms with 2 queen beds is a reservation NOT a request. There are only 25 of them and if you are lucky enough to reseve one it is essentially gauranteed. (I say essentially because just like any other room you could get there and there is no 2 bedrooms at all due to over booking, but this is rare). I would call MS just to confirm since I am not sure what the confirmation should say as far as if it has the 2 queen beds or not, but just in case there is one available and the MS person didn't hear you, you should call. I know Beach Club has a code for the 2 different rooms, the Dedicated with 2 queens is called DQ and the one with a queen and a couch is called DC, but I don't how MS differenciates them.

Not sure what kind of 'action' you are looking for, if it is people you are looking to see, the pool is about all the action you will get, I guess with the exception of the courtyard view which is the walkway between the Beach Club and Beach Club Villas, everyone has to walk by there to get from one to the other so there will be a lot of people there.

Do you know of this ever happening? If so, what then? I know it happens in hotel because of the 6pm hold and standard no-show rate, but I thought with DVC and it being a total lose as a no-show they would not overbook.

Thanks
Sandy

Yes, there was a poster who said that they showed up for their 2 bedroom and there was no 2 bedrooms available at all. Not sure if it was an overbooking or maybe one or more of the rooms were out of commission for some reason i.e. being exterminated. This poster mentioned that they were put up in one of the 2 bedroom suites at the resort.

I have also read here where someone was upgraded from a studio to a 1 bedroom because there were no studios available.

Like I said, it is rare, but I have heard of it.

I think the only time you would have an overbooking situation with DVC is if a room was out of service due to maintenance or renovation. There have been posts where people got upgraded on room size due to this (example - studio to 1 bedroom). It is rare though.

2-bedrooms suites at BCV? I did not know suites existed. Aren't the suites and same as the vacation homes? If not, whats the difference and are the suite available through the point system?

No, the suites are at the Beach Club, not the Beach Club Villas. The 2 bedroom suites are bigger than the villas, they are more elaborately decorated and I don't beleive they have a full kitchen. I don't think any of the suites at any of the resorts are available on points.

Here is a link http://www.***********.com/id39.htm of some pictures from the Nantuckett Suite at the Beach Club. There is also some great pics of other WDW Suites on this site.

Terry, I checked that website earlier. Nantuckett appears 'dreary'. I prefer the Steeplechase at BW...Appears fresh and lively

Too bad points couldn't be used for the suites.

Steve- my 2 Br dedicated reservation from DVC reads as follows :
Vacation home type: TWO BEDROOM DEDICATED/2Q

kem330....that is defintely not listed as on my reservation. I better get to calling to clarify my request.

Thanks all,
Steve
