Our trip is from 5/3-5/10 ...I'm curious as to what kind of wait can be expected if me and my girlfriend were to just go to Le Cellier or Ohana's around 6pm and put our names in for a table. Has anyone experienced this or have a ballpark wait time that might occur, 60 min, 90 min, 2 hours, etc??? Also, with places like Planet Hollywood or Hard Rock, are we able to call in advance at all to get on a dinner list or are those just walk-ins at all times? Any help is really appreciated.

Same is probably true for O'Hana. Have you tried to get ADRs? Planet Hollywood should be no problem.

I had trouble booking Ohana 90 days out! I finally had to change dates to eat there.

Yes, I called about 6 weeks ago but all that Ohana and Le Cellier had available was 9:45pm and that is way too late for us.

So do either of these places accept walk-ins at all or are they strictly ADR only?

Alas.

While you won't see stated anywhere that these two spots are ADR only, the odds of you scoring a walk-in, if you showed up at 6, are slim to none. More like "no way." The Le Cellier folks will probably just give you a helpless smile.

BUT - stranger things have happened. Keep calling between now and then, epecially the day of. I'd guess your odds might be a tad bit better at 'Ohana, just because there is more seating there.

Planet Hollywood is a different matter altogether. Get there painfully early, and they should be able to seat you at some point. Or call - I'm not sure what their reservations policy is. It's been a loooong time since we braved the Planet.

Yep, pp has it. No restaurant has the policy of "no walk-ins" (I believe) but at 'Ohanas and Le Cellier, the idea is laughable. (Not to say that anyone's laughing at you for trying/asking, but it hardly ever happens).

I got a walk in at Ohana when they were booked solid. But, I went there at 5 (as soon as they opened,) and it was about an hour wait. However, we were staying at the Poly, and I took the chance that the buzzers would work back in our room, so we just hung out in our room until we got buzzed. The idea isnt laughable because some people just don't show up for their reservations (and don't cancel) and there is always empty space to fill. However, as it gets later, there is already a long list of people waiting for a walk-in table, so the chance of you getting one is pretty much gone.

In my opinion, none of the restaurants in Disney is worth sitting around waiting for an hour or more, so I wouldn't do this for Le Cellier, where there is pretty much nothing else to do but sit and wait (I guess you could go see the Canada movie or something.....)

Unfortunately, it's not a matter of showing up and deciding whether the wait is acceptable. This is why there's so much discussion here related to ADR's!
When we ate at LeCellier, they were not accepting any walk-in's at all. In fact, this was true at all the restaurants inside the parks that we ate in, but then again, we went during free dining and you are not.
You would have the best luck A) having the concierge at your hotel try that morning to get you an ADR or B) showing up right when they open for lunch or for dinner when they may have a few tables to fill.
Good luck!

I've seen both Ohana's and LeCellier take walk ins. Ohana's was at around 5:30 (back in December) and LeCellier was right at lunch opening (a couple of weeks ago).

So, I would agree, opening time seems like your best bet.

Le Cellier will probably just tell you no walk-ins.

I agree. I can't count how many times I've heard the girls at the podium politely insist that there are no walk-ins available. Usually, the inquiring party doesn't take that information well. Given the small "lobby" of the restaurant, that's always an uncomfortable moment.

At 6pm? A walk-up isn't likely.

Right when they open? You've got a better shot. My grandparents wanted to eat at OHana's in March and I tried and tried and tried and tried for an ADR for them, no dice. They decided they'd wing it, got there right at 5, they were told it might be up to an hour and a half wait, so they grabbed seats at the bar. 30 minutes later they had a table.

So it's not impossible, but it's not likely, especially the later you go.

As for Hard Rock or Planet Hollywood, no need for ADRs. Also, these places are good for walk-ups: Spoodles (if it's still open), ESPN Zone, The Brewery Place on the Boardwalk that I can never remember the proper name for :), Beaches and Cream, Jiko, Artist Point, Yachtsman, Kona, Grand Floridian Cafe, Marakesh, and places where you can sit at the counter or bar...like California Grill, Jiko, Flying Fish, 50s Prime Time...and there might be some more. But on those with a bar/counter, be prepared to just sit at the bar and not have an actual table.

I agree that you'd have a near impossible chance getting in at 6pm at either location.

I've seen many posts here of people (like Sol) who have gone to 'Ohana as they opened at 5pm and were able to get in, but they had long waits as he did.

And while another person got into Le Cellier as a walk up, it was during lunch, which probably would be the easier option. Again, I'd say the best chance of getting in would be as they opened for lunch. World Showcase opens at 11am, so that's an option.

FWIW, last year when I was making my ADRs the CM asked if there was anything else she could help with. I said, no we're going to Planet Hollywood our first night, so nothing else. She then told me they can make ADRs for Planet Hollywood too! I think it might be during busier hours (dinner), so I went ahead and made an ADR.

My guess is that no matter what time you try and walk in at Le' Cellier you are not going to get in that place. That is one of the hardest places to get into even with ADR's.

As for Ohana. That is also very popular. At 6:00 I doubt they will even entertain putting you on a list. Perhaps an early lunch or even a very early dinner you may get in.

Good luck.
