We're thinking of going to WDW last week of august - that would mean that our flight home would be during the labor day weekend, either friday, sat, or sun... We usually fly Jetblue and their fares are listed now, but they are very high. Has anyone flown Labor Day weekend and remember if the flights were very expensive or if the prices came down at any point??? Thanks.

This is the time we go to Disney every year. Last year we came home the Wednesday after Labor day for 2 reasons: Disney is empty after Labor Day and the airfare was so much cheaper. If you check, the airfare starting Wednesday is alot cheaper. Last year I was panicking with the airfare. I was checking since January figuring it would get cheaper, but it kept going up. I think there was an airfare sale in May which I booked. The airfare went down again about a month later. I have been checking every day again. Jet Blue is crazy with their prices. We are going earlier this year - August 16 - August 30th. Jet Blues prices were high, but went higher last week for our return trip, from $119 - $169 on the 30th. I just booked yesterday for the 16th since for some reason it went down for that day $74. I booked and it went right back up. So I lucked out. We may just fly Continental coming home since it is $79 - $89. Have you checked Delta Song? I think the airlines are pricing everything high since they know that people need to travel over Labor Day and they can get the prices. Good Luck!

Last year on Song I paid $135. and the year before was $115.
You just have to keep an eye out for these fares (keep checking)
I never found traveling in or around Labor Day to be expensive.

I am waiting on Southwest to bring fares down for that time. We are going Aug 26-Sept 2. Right now, the best is $205 via Airtran.

We really can't extend the vacation to the wednesday after labor day because I believe that will be the first day of school for my dd's. I actually checked delta (song) and their fares are $79 for most of that weekend. I couldn't believe it. Now I just have to hope that it stays like that for a little while while we finalized plans with my dsis and family. We like to fly on jetblue, but for such a large price difference I guess we have no choice!

We just booked Aug 21 to Sept 1 (Sept 1 is the Labour Day Friday) and didn't find much difference really in price for that Friday flight. But the prices have really fluctuated over the last few weeks so thought I'd better "lock in" now. Our tickets are CDN $179 Syracuse to Orlando (plus taxes). This is incredible compared to what we paid last year flying out of Toronto at $545.00 per person! Won't be doing THAT again anytime soon.
