?'s about house closing

Dh and I are having a house built in a new subdivision. We got a call today to schedule the closing for September 28th. We're very excited.
What we want to know is, do we need an attorney for the closing since there is no prior owner, no deed search and such. We're new to this and knew we needed one if we purchased a previously owned home, but since this is new, we're not sure.
Anyone here know the answers?

We bought 2 brand new homes and didn't use a lawyer for either of them. We did use one to sell our old house. He didn 't seem to do much at the closing but his aide did alot of work for us

If you don't have a real estate agent working with you (not the builder's agent), then you should have a lawyer. We had a buyer's agent when we built our house. It didn't cost us any extra since she made commission.

We didn't use a lawyer on our newly built house either. The paperwork was very simple and straightforward - plus it only took about 45 minutes (I was expecting much longer!). Good luck!!

We did not - new construction as well - but our realtor was there and she decoded all the paperwork for us
