So get looking for those bargain flights - 500,000 free flights they have advertised today.

:thumbsup2 Hopefully help someone.

I think that flying is more expensive for me, even with real budget airlines!

With the ferry it's £50 in diesel return, £43 for the crossing and £30 in tolls giving a total of £123. It'd cost £30 to get to the Airport and back, £50 in parking and then probably £20 per person in transfers giving a total of £100.

I'm not sure we could get two adults and two children's plane tickets for £23.

Same here. My friend is a pilot for Ryanair & even he can't get any free flights except for himself only. I can't wait till he moves to another airline as I have told him to get me a free upgrade to business or 1st class for me:thumbsup2

Still I would use them for other desitnations.

When it comes to DLRP holidays, I do envy you guys who live within easy driving distance of Ashford :) .
My normal flights are around £100 return for one adult, one child (add on maybe £15 for car parking at the airport, and £40 for return transfers to CDG) House to Park gates in less than 5 hours.

If I drove from Nottingham, I'd have another 380 miles or so return on top of your mileage, crossing and tolls Cap'n, plus the cost of the travelodge at Ashford (as there is no way I'd be driving all that way without a break). It would also add on 2 days for journey time (getting to Ashford and then getting back from Ashford to Nottingham).

I have considered the Ryanair flights to Beauvais - they can work out cheaper, even adding a lot more for transfers than it costs from CDG :) .

I'd certainly think twice about driving from Nottingham! Mind you it takes about 8/9 hours from door to door using Norfolkline, although only 4:30 of that is driving

For us in Scotland, Flying is the best and usually cheapest option.

Driving is more expensive than flying usually, especially when I can get a bus to and from Edinburgh airport where I live, so I dont have to pay for parking.

There is the train also, but it would mean getting the train to london for 5 hours, then either catching the eurostar the same day, or staying overnight and getting the eurostar the next day.

If you are willing to be flexible, I've found flights on ryanair today for £20.02 from wed 4th until sunday 8th feb for £30.02 for 2 people including all fees and taxes!
