Wow

What a dinner I had last night, I've never been to Ruth's Chris before and I was really impressed.

I had the crabtini appetizer (cold lump crab in a sauce served in a martini glass)

My friend had shrimp cocktail

Then my friend and the kids had caesar salads and I had the tomato/onion blue cheese salad - delicious.

Then for dinner we all had steak (which arrived sizzling - just like they promise) and the meat was melt in your mouth tender and delicious. With our steaks we ordered some cheese mashed potatoes, some steak fries, steamed broccoli and sauted mushrooms.

I can't remember the last dinner I had that was so good, service too - but it is definately pricey - with tip, just under $500.00 for 2 adults/2 kids. (no booze/no dessert)

My brother-in law LOVES LOVES LOVES this place! His goal is to eat in every Ruth Chris in the World so far he has polised off most of them. I always hear great things about it from my sister and parents...one day I must try this as I guess you never look at steak the same :)

RC was my pick for a meal the night before my surgery in February. My parents were impressed. My kids liked it and my DH was happy with it. As the "guest of honor," I was not as impressed with this as I've been in the past.

What I will say is that they immediately replaced my overcooked filet with one that was just scared a little by the grill. :thumbsup2 I was just disappointed that if they'd have to screw up someone's dinner that it had to be mine considering the surgery and all.

If you haven't been to a Smith and Wolensky's or a Shula's, try them. Our hands down favorite is S&W's... the Palm is up there, too.

WOW, was that American Money??? 500.00???:scared1:

It was 488.00 Canadian which is about 420 USD. - but we didn't have alcohol or desserts, if we had it would have been well over 500.00

That's $105 PER PERSON!! I'm glad you enjoyed it but I don't think any food is worth that much money.

It's definately not something you could do every week, or month for that matter.

The experience was more than just the food, it was the atmosphere & service too. A real special treat.

We ate at Ruth Chris in Maui last year. It was delicious. It was also a special occasion. That said, it was very expensive. WE had drinks too. Our bill was over 200 bucks for the two of us :scared1: Certainly not something I could do very often.

I agree with you Cass. It is a wonderful place for a very special meal. It's good to know that they lived up to their reputation for your dinner. :thumbsup2

I have never had a better steak in my life than Ruth's Chris! :) It really does just melt in your mouth. Considering the prices of a mediocre steak at other places, it is definitely worth the money. I love the Golden Apple Martini. We generally spend around $150/pp but we've never taken the kids!

We love Ruth Chris and eat there a lot. It's one of those places I'm glad I'm not capable of eating a multi-course meal though.

Two 2 steaks and splitting a side (which are big) is enough for us and usually runs about $100.

I highly recommend the 'Crabtini' it was out of this world delicious :)

I went there twice with my old company. I had no IDEA of the prices..wow!!

The food is extraordinary, though... :thumbsup2

I was so excited when I heard that my sis was going there on someone else's dime! I told her to be sure and order a steak, even though she rarely eats red meat. Since the salmon that was offered was covered in garlic (she won't eat garlic) she had the steak and wasn't sorry! She even had dessert, but everything was too rich for her. She almost never eats like that.

Our older son and DIL really like it there too. That is their restaurant of choice for their birthdays. DS ordered the Kobe cut his last birthday - never again! It was more than twice the cost of anyone else's meal!

Nope, I don't think so either, did they have a Band and entertainment? Whats so "great" about the Atmosphere?:confused3

The candles, the linens, the fresh flowers, the waiters who refold your napkins when you go to the ladies, the music, the lighting. We loved it!

It was definately a level above your average steakhouse. We are going again on December 22nd after seeing a show in Toronto, can't wait!

My parents ate there last weekend & 2 meals , with veggies and salad was under $100!
She had seafood, he had steak and no wine.
Maybe some locations are pricier than others?:confused3

Not in my book. I'm sure it was WONDERFUL, but I would be just as happy with a $7 cheesesteak! :rotfl:
