Anybody here from Nebraska? I would love a Runza for dinner tonight. There so tasty. Nothing like that here in New Orleans. Oh well guess I shall eat my Redfish and Shrimp stew tonight. :) :) :)

Have no Idea what a Runza is but........................Doctor Who so does ROCK!!!!!!!

When I was making my grocery list last week I thought about getting stuff for Runzas, but didn't. Maybe I'll do it this week. I don't make it to Nebraska often, so I make them occasionally.

What's a Runza? Basically hamburger, cabbage, and onions fried up and baked in a roll (I use hot roll mix). They even have fast food restaurants called "Runza Hut" that serve them. If I got it wrong - maybe someone who is actually from Nebraska can correct me!

I learn something new each time I log on here.............

I was afraid to watch the new Dr. Who..........was afraid it wouldn't stay the way I liked it from before...........new dr. of course, but are they staying true?

Wanna see something cool??????

Yes..This is your Father's Doctor Who

I use the same filling as a PP...hamburger, cabbage, and onions...but I use crescent rolls, not hot roll mix. I should make some, my picky DS likes them, can't think of any other way he is going to eat cabbage.

Holy smokes! I grew up in Omaha, NE and we had Runzas often! I haven't had one in 20 years!

I just buy frozen bread loaves, thaw them, cut into 6 in. sqs., flatten, fill, fold, bake.

These actually sound very good
I may have to try them.

Me, too!!
Me, too!!
I saw the title of the thread and let out a squeal!!! :rotfl:

The last time we were in Omaha, though, we called Runza, and they said they regularly pack them on dry ice for people to take back on the plane with them!! Our flight left before they opened, or we definately would have taken them up on it!!!!

I grew up in Bellevue, but went to Papillion HS...anyone else?

I live in Nebraska - and eat at Runza at least once a week. I work in a small town and Runza is one of our only options :-) LOVE LOVE their french fries.

If you want to PM's me, I would be happy to arrange to have some sent on dry ice - they always advertise a 'party pack' where you can buy like a dozen frozen Runzas.

:-)

My father's family always made these.

Only they weren't from Nebraska.

I was the only one in the family who wouldn't eat them. I didn't like beef, cabbage, or onions.

Yes, I was the outcast. :teeth:
