Running to Guest Services to sign up for stuff as soon as you get onboard

On our first cruise, there were several onboard activities that we could NOT book online, and I had to run to the 5th floor as soon as I got onboard to sign up for. Things like the Disney Jr. character experience, the Anna & Elsa meet & greet, princess meetings, etc.

I waited in line about an hour, and most stuff was gone by the time I got to the desk. It was one of the most frustrating things about the cruise because it took me away from my family and kept me from exploring and relaxing.

It seems now that there are a lot of activities that you can now book online (gasp! somebody actually fixed the problem?) instead of running to get in line.

My question is- are there any activities that still require parents to get in line for? Or is everything available to book online now?

All that's available to book online, pre-cruise are the Princess Gathering, Frozen Meet & Greet, and Character Breakfast (for those cruises that have it).

Other than that - all other character meet & greets, you wait in line at the meet & greet location/time.

Also, mixology/tastings must be booked once onboard.

Now bookable online:
  • Disney Jr. Breakfast
  • A & E meet and greet
  • Princess gathering
  • Fancy princess tea thing I've never done because I have a boy
  • Sports simulators on Dream-class ships
Must book onboard:
  • Any of the above group of activities that are booked up by the time your personal online booking window opens. There might be extra slots bookable onboard- happened to us with the sports simulators.
  • Gingerbread house making on a Merrytime cruise

Last week, I was on of the first people in line to get tickets for Gingerbread houses and to make reservations for Palo, as it was booked online.

On cruises that offer Marvel Meet&Greet (only the Magic I believe), it must be booked onboard. Also, wine and liqueur tastings must be booked onboard.
