has anyone ever set up to have their running light on while camped running off shore power. Like your outside clearance lights on the rig on in the evening.

with all the other lights that people put up I was wondering if anyone has done this

I have seen that when we were in 900 Loop last year, there is a plug that you use that loops power back into running lights. It plugs into your seven pin plug..

you can make your own adapter to plug into your Class A or C or onto your TT or 5er cord. Take fuse holder with a 15 amp fuse and jump the TM and Accessory terminals.
I've even connected a flasher on mine to make all the lights flash for Christmas. That takes a flasher and a second fuse holder.

Trying to understand this, when your on the CG 110v power , is the 12v pin on my camper live to make that jumper wire light up my running lights ?

Yes it is. This was popular to do years ago when I was a kid. Lots of campers did it. as an adult I did it once at a campground when we were camping with a bounch of friends and they all started freaking out thinking something was wrong with the wiring.:confused3

Just be carful when doing this as the lenses that are used today are made thinner than before and dry out and crack easier. They where not made to use as display lights and can cause some issues.

I have been in the RV industry (am a current GSM now) and have had a lot off issues with lights burning out and lenses cracking.

It does look good and we do it at shows but it can lead to converter issues and other problems.

I know I've seen guys do this at several RV shows. Did I see them use a paperclip? to make the connection?

Any piece of metal that will make contact between the 2 contacts could be used and knowing the technical expertise of sales people it wouldn't surprise me to see a paper clip used. A 2 prong automotive flasher will fit nicely into the 2 needed slots and make the lights flash.
