Hello all...
Thanks to everyone for posting here. It means a lot to have support and encouragement along the way to Goofy '08. Thank you.
Well, it's officially three weeks until the Half and today was the last 8 miler in preparation. Next Sunday will be 9 and the following Sunday will be 10 miles.
Unfortunately, it was a very difficult run for me. I'm not gonna complain too much because I have a lot of luck with the long ones, but it was just not in the cards today. A LOT of my running relies on my mental state and my ability to kind of get lost in thought while I'm out there. Today, nothing seemed right...I didn't want to listen to music, I couldn't relax and just hit the groove, I was looking at the watch every minute or two wondering when the next break was....but I still completed the mileage. I wanted to quit after 6, but knowing that people do their runs while wiped out, totally sick, in bad conditions, etc...I just had to finish it up.
So...it's in the books and I can move on now. Bad runs will happen, they are inevitable, I just hope that was the last one for a while
Hope everyone had a great weekend...back to the bump and grind tomorrow.
