Running at the POP!

Hey all,
We will soon be heading for our stay at the POP in early Feb. I need some help! I am training for the mini-marathon up here in Indy and I need to run a 5k on the Saturday I am there. Are there any runners out here that have stayed at the POP and could give me a route that is about 5k?
I know some of the mods and deluxes have jogging trails, but i havent seen anything for POP.
Any help would be appreciated!

Hey...I wanted to do the Indy half, but it sold out!!! Good luck! I ran a few times around Pop, just on the paths, and I would guess you could do 1-1.5 miles. Do you have a pedometer? The Epcot resorts aren't too far away and they have a nice running path. If your serious about getting in a good 5K, I would probably go there.

If you go to the front desk, they should have a map somewhere in thier piles that has the Pop jogging map.

A word of advice (and a plea) to anyone wanting to jog at Disney: Please do not jog on any roadway. Disney roadways (even the ones that appear to be back roads) are high speed, high traffic roadways filled with cast members late for work, crazy tourist drivers, and large buses that cannot quickly stop or swerve to get out of the way. There are also lots of blind curves, which make it even worse. Please stay on all sidewalks, and if there isn't a sidewalk, don't jog there.

Hey Tyler, thanks i didnt know POP would have jogging trails. thats great. Thanks for the advice on roadways. That could put a damper on our vacation plans.

It's not so much of a jogging trail, but rather a route along the pathways that equals a certain distance.

As for not jogging on the roadways, I know that it can be an inconvenience to some, as there aren't many good places to jog/run on property. But the way I look at it is this -- A day jogging in circles around Pop Century is a day better spent than one in the hospital after being hit by a car... I see too many accidents on property... I like to prevent them when I can.
