Run to Hallmark (Corporate Stores)

The ornaments are $1.00 again! Some are $3.00 and $5.00 too.

I got all of the angels for $1.00 each. Simba was $3. The $45 Winnie the Pooh was $5.00.

I spent $22.00 and got a ton of stuff. I wanted to find the Goofy and Pluto ornament set but the 2 stores I stopped at were out. Oh well.

I don't think the independently owned stores do this. They didn't last year.

I was shopping today also I didn't see the Goofy/Pluto ornament at any of the stores, for some reason that one seems scarce but there were plenty of the malt shop ones. Got everything on my waiting for a great bargain list. The Cinderella wedding was $3, Fantasia Mickey $5 and Chicken Little $1. I picked up Chicken Little at one store and they said it was $3 but their registers weren't giving any of the 1/3/5 pricing. Went to another store and it was $1. I may go back and see if I can get the price adjusted.

Is there some way to identify corporate stores?

From what I've noticed (this doen't make it true for all areas) in TX, if the store sells other types of gift items they are not corporate stores.

The corporate stores usually heavier on cards, wrapping paper, or invitations. The sales happen faster with these stores.

The others are heavier on the collectables such as Dept 56, snowbabies, dreamsicles, boyds bears, and others. They set their own sales price. I found ornaments that were 2 yo (near me) that were only 1/2 off last Nov.

You can also just ask them. Most of the ones in my area are independent. The one in the mall near me is corporate. The one near DH's job is in the mall but it is an independent store.

Hallmark Creations & Amy's Hallmark are usually corporate.
