Well I have just got back from completing the Run for Life in aid of Cancer research. I feel so proud to have helped people.
Cancer is a subject close to my heart as I have watched a few members of my family fight against the disease, and now i feel that I have done something to aid the much needed research to stop or at least help prevent other families from having to watch their loved ones go through the battle.
The race was great, the atmosphere was really wonderful and it makes you think when you see all the names on peoples vests that they are doing the race to remember or in celebration of a realative or friend.
Over all we walked 6.5 miles and even though the course was 3 miles it was extra to walk to the startline and then get back to the car!
I know this because I took my Mom's trusty pedometer with me to measure! I am now very tired and am going to settle down in the jacuzzi bath with a glass of wine!
May be next year DIS UK bods could get together and do the run for life (wearing DIS shirts of course!!
)
Thanks for listening to a teary eyes but proud Gem!
