Rumors that have come to Fruition

With all the wonderful rumors that have left stars in our eyes, I'd like to hear about all those wonderful rumors that have been going around for years that have actually come to fruition, rumors from years and years gone by........

Whose got the first?

That a haunted hotel would be built in MGM

That they would build a second park in Disneyland
That the cruise line would come to the west coast
That Horizons would close and be replaced with a Space ride
That they would build a real rollercoaster in AK
That they would dismantle the secret lab (the CGI Facility)
That they would close the animation studio in Florida
That they would re-hab Alien Encounter to a Stitch theme
That Disneyland would get a Buzz Lightyear ride
That Country Bears would close at Disneyland (just before the movie came out)
That DVC would build a resort at Yacht & Beach Club
That they would build a carnival area in AK (Dinorama)

These are just off the top of my head for the last couple of years...

What was the Secret Lab?

It was Disney's attempt to move the Computer Graphics work that was being done by outsiders in house. These are some of the people that worked on Dinosaur. However, Eisner or the suits got cold feet when Dinosaur wasn't a mega-hit and closed the group down.

The secret lab was Disney's first computer animation department. Its first film, Dinosuar, boomed horribly and Eisner dismatled it the sercret lab soon thereafter. Not long after that, Pixar and Dreamworlks was not just a short term fad and Eisner was left without his own CG group.

A Pooh ride in Disneyland would replace the Country Bears.
TOT would be built at DCA
CoP would go seasonal
Epcot would get a Soarin attraction
