Hi Yall!!!!!

Well, its 3 weeks post honeymoon and Im at work going through Mickey Withdrawl... I wasnt much of a disney fan until I stepped aboard the Wonder on the 20th (albeit somewhat bleary eyed from the weekends activities). But, I have seen the light and am a convert now... We vowed we would never settle for a weekend at the beach if we could at all avoid it. From now on, its DCL vacations for us.... I will be posting a trip report and on this board along with a link to my website for all the pictures as soon as I can get them all scanned in...

But, the point of my entry this evening is while on the cruise, the Cruise Director stated that there are rumors about that DCL is planning another ship. Perhaps a different type of itinerary... Anyone out there heard this??? Could we possibly see a Bermuda cruise, or maybe evening (dare I say it) an Alaskan cruise???

At the Castaway Reception on the 10/17 sailing of the wonder, the captain discussed that there are lots of talks going on about adding a third ship with a new route, but it is all in the discussion stages right now. At least this is what I have heard.

We were on the 10/20 Wonder for our HM as well! I have not yet stopped talking about it! My co-workers are avioding me in the hallways I have however sold one family on doing DCL! So many people seemed surprised that HM'ers do DCL, and they were shocked to hear that there were at least 10 newleyweds are our dinner rotation alone!

Are you two planning any future cruises? We have Feb 04 eastern cruise in the works....however, we are planning the little dcl cruisers in the near future, so we'll see how the timing works out!

Well its funny you ask about whether we have planned anothe cruise. Today is our 1 month anniversary and I left her a card. Ok, mushy mushy I know but the card said

"there is no place I would rather spend our 1 month anniversary than in your arms..... "

the inside said "Unless of course its in Castaway Cay...." ROFLMAO

So maybe we will take a trip to the travel agent this weekend and drop a little cash... My vote is for 7 day Eastern Carribean...

Aww, that's so cute.....

Anyway, we just got off the Magic and we too heard from a Castmember, that they are building another ship. It is called "Disney Dreams". It is supposed to be done in 2004. Now, I guess we all need to see if it is true.

I heard the Disney Dreams story in Dec. 2001. They said it was "being built" at that time. It seems to me that the crew is notoriously unreliable on this topic. If that were the case, a new ship would be in service early next year. However, no major shipyard has announced that they even have a contract to build a ship for Disney, much less that construction has actually begun. The latest scuttlebut I've heard is that DCL may make an announcement early next year. If that's the case, the earliest a new ship would be in service would be late in 2004, more likely early 2005, depending on when construction can begin. DCL themselves have said that despite rumors to the contrary, they are not currently building a ship and they are not announcing a timetable for such a ship at present.

My hope is that with a third ship, DCL will position one on the west coast, doing Mexico in the winters and Alaska in the summers.

There is no Disney ship currently under construction at Fincantieri in Venice.
