Rumors or facts about DCA Magic Morning

From what I've heard, Magic Mornings for DCA will begin 6/18 (MWF) and is limited to Disneyland Resort Hotel guests. Magic Mornings for multi-day tickets will remain the same.

I haven't heard anything about APs yet.

Wow, that is slightly disappointing, but I guess, not terribly surprising. I suppose for off site that the best strategy will be to hit DCA on the non magic mornings.

(The worst case scenario would be if DCA had magic mornings every day but only for resort guests. You'd be an hour behind everyone else, every day, if you were staying off site.)

The DIS posted this on Twitter yesterday, but I've not seen anything official from DLR via Twitter or the DP Blog yet:

In addition to the existing Magic Mornings at Disneyland Park, guests will be able to visit Disney California Adventure 1 hour early on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

The Magic Morning schedule for those with 3 Day + Park Hopper Tickets will not change

Ok guys, it looks like AP MM has officially been posted on DL website and yes, all you need is an AP to be able to attend the MM. However, its very, very strict and there are many, many rules to it as well. As someone said, you have to register first as I'm guessing thats to keep the number down. You can't just show up on a Tuesday morning and expect to be let in. AND you can do it only once and thats it! Anyway here is the link:

Told you its extensive! ;)

And yes, as I suspected in my first post here, its only for a limited time, from June 18th through Sept. 13th! I'm guessing its basically for Apers to get their fill of CL and once they done their share this summer there would be no real need or demand for it.

Thanks for sharing! It does look extensive, glad I'll be staying on-site on the 18th and 19th. Don't think I'll try for the AP MM, leave that space for somebody else. Sounds like a well-thought out system though. I'm curious what the numbers will be for the maximum amount of AP holders allowed for early entry. Probably similar to the max capacity for the 3 hotels I'd guess.

Yeah no worries! :) I know for a lot of people out there they really wanted to know if this was true or not and its definitely true!

And like you I will be staying a few days on site as well basically. I have an AP and live within 30 mins of the parks but this is not something I really saw myself doing. Its too much of a hassle and I'm NOT a morning person lol. I did MM last summer staying on site just to be able to get on ST 2 and rode it 20 mins after it opened, but then basically dragged after that the rest of the morning.

I think it will make a lot of people happy, but with its restrictions I dont think that many people will bother. I mean all of that just to get in an hour early? When you are a tourist, have few precious days I know how valued it is. When you can go to the park basically weekly all year long, I doubt the demand will be all that high when most probably just show up after work anyway.

I don't know. We have friends who live in the greater LA area who I think will bother, largely because they have Premium APs and non-standard day-off patterns. I imagine the Sat-Sun AP MMs slots will be harder to get than the T, Th ones though.
I saw the DIS blog entry about the Disney owned hotel DCA Magic Mornings but nothing official from Disney on that yet. I'm taking it at face value atm, particularly given the AP MMs, but it would be nice if DLR officially posted it.

Awesome! I was looking for official sources. I will update the MM super thread tomorrow! :thumbsup2

No dont get me wrong, I know many will definitely use it and go, especially the hardcore fans early on, but the great majority of AP users have the two lower passes, will be blocked out most of the summer anyway and according to the web page, they cant go at all on black out dates, even if they buy a black out day ticket which they could for any day they are normally blacked out. I was a little surprised by that actually. But as I said, there are many restrictions. I'm sure many will be unhappy with that but again they can always go later once it all dies down.

And on top of that I suspect the great majority will do the weekends, although like your friends have the week days off would go, but majority of Aps not counting the lowest ones of course, still generally do DL on the weekends for the most part. I dont see that pattern changing much just because most can get in an hour early on the weekday now. I suspect some will make special acommodations if they can to do it early weekday, but most would probably either do it on a weekend or just not do it at all if the weekends get booked up. I dont think MM will add much for people who generally wait until the weekend to go to DL! Not just for an earlier hour in the park! But hey, who knows! Maybe this will be wildly popular all summer!

So I do wonder if it ends up being more popular than I think it will, to the point they are hitting the capacity number for the event nearly daily, will they expand it beyound September? I have a feeling it wont be needed but we'll see!

I see that the AP program ends in Sept. Bummer! I'm going in October. I hope it's a big success, and that they decide to extend it!
