Rumors of Light (ROL discussion thread)

Has there been a map depicting the RoL (or Jungle Book) seating for dinner packages, FP+, and standby? I assume it will be similar to Fantasmic! and that dinner packages have the best views, but I am trying to figure out where FP+ will end up.
I think there was one for the Jungle Book show but obviously not sure if it will be the same for ROL. @Robo was it one of your famous maps?

@PolyRob, @Robo posted some maps in this thread in the Everything Fastpass forum...they're at the bottom...sounds like the FP and the dining package areas are interchangeable?

ETA: link seems to go to first page but they're at the bottom of second page - sorry...

Great, thank you! I had read somewhere that the FP+ was in front of EE and the dining package tickets and standby were by Nemo, but I am definitely a visual person so this helps!

We'll, I'm not sure if it's just that the views are considered interchangeable but one is just for FPS and packages and the other standby? I didn't see Jungle book so I don't have any direct experience. I think there's a link to an article about the seating under the map...but I agree, the visual definitely helps!

Can someone remind me what was the best time to do the night safari? I recall that "dark" was worthless....was it dusk that actually provided decent / different viewing? Thanks!!

Yay! I have fastpass and dining reservation for RoL. Of course I was a dufus and got the fastpass for the time same time as the dining package.... when I tried to correct it the later show was taken. I'll keep an eye out in case availability opens up. So very excited!
:cheer2: Sailin' on the River! :boat:

I think one side (for JB) was FP and the other packages. Not sure of standby. Back then I heard the FP side was actually better. @yulilin3 has a FP for the soft opening tonight so hopefully she will come back afterward and give us a review.

I think I just read on TouringPlans blog that dining packages are on Dino land side, and then someplace else I read Asia side was FP, but I can't remember where I read that...hopefully the views are similar, as I want to keep my dining package instead of using the FP, lol! I have a week before I book FPs, so there will hopefully be more info by then, although I can't imagine the difference would be too big of a deal..

Yes, fp is on the Asia side, saw the signs posted yesterday. The Dinoland side are packages and standby

Do you think there's any appreciable difference in view? I wouldn't think so, but just curious! I'd rather be closer to Asia when we're done, but I have wanted to try Tiffins so will probably just keep it!

I hope you have fun tonight! Can't wait to hear what our roving reporter has to say!

the problem with the JB show were the water spray/screen effects, I don't know exactly how that will affect RoL but I will let you know tonight :)

For those asking about seating locations/view, I will offer my experience from doing FP+ as well as the dining package for Jungle Book Alive with Magic - I have no idea if this will hold true for ROL but I hope it helps someone know what to expect.

1.) Arrive early despite having "guaranteed" seating
2.) Based on the view of Jungle Book, in the future I would ask a CM to sit as close to the front as possible, where the seating is on more of a steep grade. When we did the dining package seating we were in front of Nemo close to the canal/bridge (as close to the theater's center as possible if that makes sense) up near the top and I thought it would be a good view but the seating rise between one set of seats to the ones above and below it were not tall enough in between to offer a good view without heads in front of you. This may not be possible for them to accommodate you since the CMs have to fill the theater in a certain way but if you ask kindly and offer to wait, they may let you move to the side and wait until they start filling the next section. I borrowed the below photo from Mouse Planet - you can clearly see where the rise changes about half to two thirds the way up the "bleachers". The below section was Dining Package for Jungle Book Alive With Magic.

Ok, a question for you. I read that the lower seats are a lot more uncomfortable bc it's stone seating. Do you think it's worth it to sit on the harder seats to get a better view?

For me, yes. The other seats were no more comfortable. Especially with your little ones I would aim for the lower stone seats because otherwise you will need to put them in your and DH's laps! The family in front of us the first time we saw JBAWM got up and left halfway through because they had children who couldn't see at all. I'm not saying you couldn't luck out, but the shorter rise really wasn't an improvement in seat comfort to me.

And there are always "butt cushions" or even folded towels you could bring. But to me, the other thing is that, from the photo, it looks like those upper rows are just crammed together...maybe the lower stone ones are too, but it just looks like there is a bit more "wiggle room" for those who may be tired of being "cheek to cheek" with hundreds of their newest friends.

But, really, this is a 15 minute show...I think I can sit on stone for 15 minute, heck I sit on the rock wall in front of Winnie the Pooh waiting for the FWs, and the stones at the Beast's castle waiting for dining. And, truly, for me, at that time of day, ANYTHING to sit on is appreciated.

Yeah we finally get the packages!! I book my dinning packages next month for my Sept. trip!!

What day are you going?

We're going Monday Apr 10. I also was able to secure fastpass for the second showing... so pending decent weather we'll have double the Rumor, double the Light!

I'm sorry, my goofy brain doesn't recall the dates of your sister trip. Our tiffins ressie is at 4:15, monday Apr 10. I think we're going to do Star Wars fireworks on Tues Apr 11, and planning on Galactic Nights for the 14th. I hope you're enjoying the planning, and it's gotten easier for you!

*running in circles* so excited!
