Let's just say she has a history of over exaggerating symptoms and manipulating tests. After failing/manipulating the sound booth hearing test (which shocked the doctor. He really thought she just had wax/dirt in her ear that needed to be removed so he was very surprised at the results of that test), he wanted to do a CT scan to look for tumors. I asked to speak to him privately and explained that she had been known to manipulate/exaggerate/lie about symptoms and tests and was there something "safer" that we could do to confirm that there really was an issue (at that point, she had already had a CT scan for a different issue...that also turned out to be nonexistent.). He said we could do the BAER test because there was no way for her to manipulate that, but if that came back with a problem, we'd have to do a CT scan. I was fine with that game plan. Needless to say, she didn't need a CT scan.
