Thank you, I will keep thinking positive and hope for the best. I know renting one isnt hard....it's using one that I'm having trouble reconciling. I just want the best trip ever with my boys. It's their 21st birthday just a month before our trip and we have so many wonderful plans.
If you want the best trip ever, go rent an ECV! I will use one on our upcoming trip, too. Last year, when I was at DL, I sprained my ankle on the first day (slipped on a curb at DCA). I was in pain for the whole 4 days I was there and I had so much trouble walking - just the short walk from the hotel across the street to the park in the morning was agony. Of course I didn't even think about renting a wheelchair or an ECV. It was my first trip to DL since '98 and I hated every single minute of it (well, maybe not every minute of it but most of the time I just did not enjoy myself at all). I think I was in the Tiki room like half a dozen times each day so I could just sit down. I sought out the rides with the shortest wait time so I could ride and *sit down* (single rider on Indy is awesome in that regard!). Oh, and if you ask nicely, they also let you stay on the river boat for another round (yes, I did that, too). My day was ruled not by how I could really enjoy the parks (man, I had so many plans!) but by what's the next best way to sit down and get off my feet. I was really really miserable. Said sparined ankle has since triggered an underlying issue which required surgery and a lot of metal in my ankle. I am fine walking most of the time but I told myself I will NOT make that mistake again. I want to enjoy myself, the park and my time with my kids so I am getting an ECV. Trust me, whatever troubles you will have using it, it'll be much worse being miserable and in pain on a hot day at WDW.
