Let me just say I wouldn't count on it lasting! I say this as someone who was present at the GnR/Metallica concert in Montreal that turned into a riot after 1) Hetfield caught himself on fire due to a pyrotechnic error, and 2) after refusing to come on early and then signing maybe 6 songs, Axl sat down on the stage, stopped singing, said a nasty word or two to the crowd, threw the mic, and then took off. Let's just say that did not sit well with the crowd. Shortly thereafter, the tour was canceled. Not sure Axl is any less of a prima donna than he was back then...

Yikes - I am not sure what we'll do on 4/22 - I've been giving it a lot of thought since things have been looking so dim for a "secured" viewing. You're definitely giving me more to think about! We don't get there often enough to invest the whole day like that, but we may want to go in and do what we can and just "enjoy the night". My FPs are booked in AK for the afternoon - I've been hoping at least to modify one for an evening safari but no luck yet. It may be a game time decision depending upon how the rest of the week goes...

I can tell you with certainty that we will NOT be waiting even 2 hours in STANDBY for a 20 minute light show, and I don't care how much they hype it. I'm thinking that since we are still planning to be at AK on our designated night, we'll just take advantage of the fewer crowds (cause they are all standing in line for ROL) and do the other after-dark attractions. If a FP or dining package magically (and memorably) materializes, great, but otherwise, we'll see it next trip.

And that's my final answer...I think.

I HATE to be the bearer of bad news but for some reason I still have access to the HUB, today is the day the parks post their in park events and now it shows the preview events all cancelled.
It's showing the 15th Premium Preview and both the 16th and 17th preview events cancelled...they were cancelled 3/22
There's an event showing for April 19th called "Awaken Summer" no details on it, it's all TBD other than to say it's a promotion event, for 600 people and will start at 7:15pm until 9pm. It could be DPB meet up or just bloggers and media event

We really appreciate all you do with passing information along, even if it's bad news. It gives us a chance to plan a bit, especially for those of us that are traveling Mid April.

Lol! It's the last day of our trip, and I feel like I can keep it flexible at this point. I feel like since we added the extra day for ROL, I'm going to look at it like managing expectations. We'll give it a shot but not expect to see ROL. That's a good idea, though, to look at it like taking advantage of the people in line in order to do other stuff. One has to imagine that there will be cool entertainment and stuff given it's the anniversary. And again, we've always been early morning people at AK, so to see it at night would be awesome! That is, if they change the hours...lol

No baby and no news. I called the cast line today to ask about something else, and asked about RoL while I was there. The CM was really nice, and sounded as frustrated as we are. She said the info they're getting literally changes every day and they're just as keen for solid info as we are. She did she say she heard that Tiffins was delayed, and that might affect the dinner packages, but she also said she didn't understand why that would mean they couldn't at least announce show times. So nothing new really.

We had tickets to that ACDC concert -- canceled by StubHub, rather than letting us hang onto tickets! Grrr... IF Axl actually does this, I would have still gone to see it.

Another blow to the ROL cause! Thanks so much for the information - I know everyone appreciates it. I'm very disappointed but I'd rather just know what I'm working with that week at this point. Do you know what park if "Awaken Summer" is in?

Where will they even put a standby line for ROL? I feel like the walkways are really small as is but I haven't been to AK in a while.
